July 1, 201511 yr #1 Hi guys,I was discussing fitting a Precision 6466 with my mechanic and he mentioned the 'new' GTW3884R. Apparently its the Garrett equivalent to the 6466 but a fair bit cheaper, my mechanic said he can get one for about $1500.Has anyone used this turbo or have any results on it?Andy
July 1, 201511 yr #2 There are 2 versions, make sure you ask which one.http://www.atpturbo.com/info/garrettgtw.html
July 1, 201511 yr #5 Yeh I've already had a gander but at very close to 3k with rear housing it's up there But some people like to be the ones down different paths
July 1, 201511 yr #6 we can get them using a factory rear housing, but as mentioned, there is 2 of each model, cartridge or ball bearing
July 1, 201511 yr #7 I believe the gtw3884 can be used with factory rear housing but the housing requires machining
July 1, 201511 yr #8 They have different oil fittings to the gt/gtx also. According to their websiteNegligible part of the cost though I suppose Edited July 1, 201511 yr by barnz
