As above, though, treat it like any other car - they are not special in any way (other than the potential for better brakes and the wheels that fit them).

mine was an unmarked one , still came with brembos and fpv wheels

seats are sometimes in bad shape, but wreckers have spares, I got lucky and got one in good condition

I guess it really just depends on what the price tag is on it, if you want it than you'llway up the pros and cons and see if its worth it, brembos are great so fon't get me wrong there but from what I've heard a set of dba4000's and good pads will perform beautifully under any type of pressure a stock to lightly modified xr6T can throw, so dont get it in you're head that it needs or should have brembos, if you get it, drive it like its supposed to be driven from day one, if you baby it than start to feed it that's when things start to go wrong.

I picked mine up from a very reputable dealer for 23 marked from 27.5, they truly are amazing cars which are underrated

Cheers for the posts. Yeh the price is definitely good. Only drama is that it is interstate so I will obviously source a company that does vehicle inspections to have a look before I head down.

I loved my ex chasers... They were fantastic. No issues what so ever. In fact I've had a couple of both chasers and non chasers and probably coincidence but I had more issues with the non chasers lol

What I found was a city car always had damage underneath scraps and stuff but I looked at a few country cars and they were in much better condition overall. So if you can check the log books and see where it was serviced and it will advise you on where it was based. I personally wouldn't buy one as I have 2 mates who are cops and they say no gutter to big or dip to deep.

Yeah my FG was the Quakers Hill 201 Highway car (unmarked), bought mine with 65,000kms, and have only changed my diff bushes once.

To be honest I love it, have had it since July 2012, and absolutely love driving it.

I think the Brembo and FPV wheel combination really do allot for the car...

I also have a BF Mark II XR6T, which was the Mount Druitt 201 car, bought that with 60,000KMS and can't say I have had any major problems with it, apart form the usual diff bushes etc...now done 225,000KMS, and I'm tossing up wether to update it with another ex chaser FG Mark II or wait for the FGX.

If I come across one of the superintendents cars such as the "Traffic 3 XR6T" at the auction, which I'm keeping a look out for I will definitely be bidding on that. (as these cars are generally used for the superintendents to cruise around in)

I do know someone in the force, who knows one of the traffic services sergeants, that has given me basic details on cars I have been interested in the passed, that were coming up for auction.

Usually they tend to know about the cars driven by the big bosses etc... as there's only a handful of these cars...

I believe the current Traffic 3 car is an unmarked FG Mark II, in the edge colour, from what I have seen from photos.

The first thing that would arouse my attention is that the when the car does come through to auction, it will generally have much lower kms than the other ex highway cars. (and they are generally much cleaner looking)...this is probably an obvious point...

The car also doesn't have radar gear etc...as its literally used as basic transportation for the superintendent.(though it does have the dash mounted strobe lights etc...)

Otherwise it's hard to know if its one of these cars, unless someone can confirm this for you, as Police Fleet Services don't tell you anything...
