its going to be a costly exercise I've looked into it to by the time you've brought all the parts needed and rebuild the box (strengthen it) you won't get much change from 6-7k that's if you can do all the work yourself.

With BF II's down to 9 or 10 grand is it really worth the trouble/effort

Yeah probably easier to move "dumb" parts from a better condition car instead of messing with the transmission. A new engine is probably easier!

not always that easy though... I will be looking at replacing the stoopid btr when it dies, c4 is prol a goer but if I wanted to go zf theres no way id be able to replace the whole car- with prol close to 250 hours put into the strip/ rebuild/ mod/ customization of the car it is simply not an option-

however if it was a n/a that WOULD be the deal breaker.....

^^ is apparently compatible with 2nd generation 6HP, not sure which one our cars have.
