Zf 6 Speed Conversion Ba

Hi all,

Can anyone give advice on converting a 4 speed transmission on a ba to a 6 speed transmission ZF? Has it been done before? Is it easier to get another car?

yes it's been done and the best advice is to get everything from the same car,

seriously though, it's easier to trade and buy a ZF

Everything including the flywheel? Or from the converter to the diff? Of course ECU and wiring will be needed, does anyone know the complete list of what's needed? Ta

we had a customer do it and we had to help get it sorted, his biggest mistake was getting auto from 1 car and ecu from another, he ended up needing to replace complete wiring loom to BF spec which meant extra knock sensor, ecu ABS unit, tune dash unit, oil pressure sender, diff etc

Wow,knew they changed a bit re the ECU/tune/loom between the two but didn't think it was that much

Thank you so much for the info! So basically tailshaft, box, ECU, PCM, and harness. Sounds good now to find a complete unit. Probably around 3k

And diff or else your first gear will be crazy short.

So the whole drivetrain basically bar the engine. That's fairly reasonable

my car just finished getting it converted to a zf and just make sure you get everything from the same car even the abs unit as we found there were something like 6 diffrent abs modules and only work with a certain computer
