I just noticed this the other day in the morning on my way to work.

I just had a retune and making conservative 340kw and I thought maybe the alternator stops working under certain loading in the same way the air con stops working under WOT.

Any help would be appreciated

Maybe I'm due for a new battery?

Cheers, Chris

We assume: All major terminals are clean and tight and all earth wires are properly connected to the body and engine. After that

1. Check age and condition of battery. If good, then

2. Have a load check done on the alternator. If good, then

3. Check condition of the drive belt, tensioner system and pulleys. If they are all aged - eg >100,000k's - the belt might be cracked and slipping or has stretched too far for the tensioner to

keep the preload on the drive system. If you remove the belt to replace - draw a diagram of the looping system. Looks easy but in the heat of the moment, sometimes it is easy to forget

how they go back on.

That should do it.
