FWIW I bought some VDO coils off ebay a few months ago (with plugs bundled) and they have seen 500km a week driving and still going strong.

I had some aftermarket coils that only lasted 6 months. Went to genuine and all good. I think its prety hit and miss with the aftermarket ones
