Intake Legalities

Hey guys

Looking at installing a hdi gt2 cooler into my ba xr6t.

Now I believe the piping setup will cause me to have to remove the standard air snorkel running to the standard boxed filter.

I know some guys then just cover the hole under the standard box and then cut a hole in the front of the filter box (which is illegal I think)

I am aware I can only have one intake mod in vic (The cooler itself)

How can I get around an alternate set up for the stock snorkel without the boys in blue popping my bonnet and going yep cooler plus second intake bang canary??

what have you guys done?

would having this alongside my cooler help stay away from trouble

If your worried about the leagal side of things

STOP NOW .......

A cooler plus the 2nd lower f6 style intake is very unlikely to get u defected anywhere as its a stock item ( for f6 ) dont worry so much bud

Or just drive sensibly and never get pulled over , works for me.

Get a Nizpro cooler if you want legal. Prepare for canary + EPA anyway.

that's for an FG.

Just go the F6 snorkel. It won't max out before other illiegal mods are required (bigger injectors being the main one).

Will that be illegal with a cooler that doesnt require the front bar being cut?

Nothing wrong with the standard airbox, im making just under 300 with it

but with the cooler that's going in the standard snorkel running to the air box has to be removed.

which means if I leave the standard box there I will have no way of getting air to it other than remove stand box completely a new cai ie ebay link or cutting a hole in the standard box using a f6 snorkel behind the headlight.

my question still hasnt been answered

if I have the above cai on ebay fitted and a intercooler that doesnt require the front bar being cut is that legal in vic?
