Best Generic Tune?

There is no way any one can send you a generic performance tune that is 100% suited to your car, it is not possible, do you have selective eye sight or something?

No one said its 100%. But Ratter, you must admit for the total cost of $390 Ive done well (Flasher and tune). Also its a 280rwkw tune. Still don't know if I'll load. But it can be done on a budget. I'm tempted because I might be that lucky individual that the tune suits my car.

But look the reality is if I'd known all the bullsh*t I have had to go through, I would have just bought a new X3 in all honesty.

From the purist perspective a generic tune is not the way to go, butfor the average Joe a noticable power increase equals a happy customer. If people want a generic tune tell them were to go.

Look at some stage I'll be on a dyno when I load the tune. When this happens I will report back my findings. But if they are good everyone will then say its bullsh*t.

You may be lucky, a simple dyno run will not tell you it's safe though, data logging in conjunction with the dyno run is needed to get an idea of that, my example what I saw today is a common occurance I have seen with generic tunes.

If the results are good your lucky nothing more! Lol the average joe wants to go fast as cheap as possible but 5k plus for a bew bottom end and proper tune isnt what I call cheap. Generic tunes are crap full stop do it once do it properly if not leave it standard.

For the OP's purpose ok I can understand that, get the injector scaling right so it can be driven for a week or two until a proper tune is done but I wouldnt be letting it see any boost or doing any serious k's on it as you may damage the cat etc, you just do not know what the car is doing

My motor is worth more to me than having 15 extra kw. Get a 3000rpm limiter.

Generic tunes are cruelty to the Barra i6, they should be outlawed. To many blocks going to the bin.

Yeah I must agree, theres a lot more generic tunes out there than custom tunes. I have done a heap of ringing around. Many sell CAPA tunes. In the end I bought a tune off Bruce Hienrich Performance Tuning after many conversations as they are his own tunes that he has spend a lot of time getting right. He stands behind his tunes, and doesn't send you a disclaimer as well .
