  1. Painful spot to lose a stud, you may be able remove nut from another stud and size it up at a fastener shop or go to Ford. put it up on car stands and get your hands dirty. use high temp Loctite and let it set overnight. All the nuts on turbo, manifold, need to be inspected regulary. Its not uncommon to lose bolts on exhaust side, these parts glow. It wont cost you that much I imagine.
  2. I run the Scat H beam and J E piston combo, the J E have the same skirt size as oem pistons, as for "rattling" sounds sort of .But it is more of a "sewing machine"sound that is heard, due to ring clearances made so you can run the high boost and allow for the forgie to swell slightly. fortunetly you dont hear these sounds as much in a forged 355 stroker. Dont look past using ford guides and chains,nothing wrong with them. Seen alloy chain guides, but I'd rather have nylon wearing off(if any)in my new motor as opposed to metal. At the end of the day you have to think about what you want out of the car, you can build these motors reasonably priced by any motor engine builder/machinist with experience, they are only a modern straight six,
  3. dont rule out it may be a dud gauge, and youve done everything right. If its new, swap it and start again. that's if the shop is fair dinkum, and not ebay I hope.{for less dramas}
  4. r u running oil into the dash? old school. your keen ..
  5. sometimes the terminal tabs on back of gauges are loose from new, in my case. gauge didnt work until tightened. Try that and test outside cup holders.
  6. turbo oil drain line needs to be drilled in sump ,that's it
  7. Thanks mate, its a Ba, was 12psi tuned,now standard tune due to lack of faith.(long story short, not my tuner anymore). still ticking when ignition on, car running fine 7-8psi, have all bolt on mods. Could it just be a faulty switch? cheers.
  8. Hi all, have a small problem with solinoid ticking when accessories are turned on. Removed plug coming from relay box above it and sound dissapears. Do solinoids fail byself? Or can it be relay issues? Running standard tune. Any help would be great. thanks
  9. Hi, need to know on whether to replace my lifters back with genuine ones or not? Forged motor,{blah,blah} thanks fellas.
  10. I threw a leg out of bed at 164,000km, 308rwkw, on pulp, whether it was the gudgion that went first, I'll never know. either way if its old, or your not running e85(by the sounds of it) it will give up the ghost eventually. Start saving brass, if your heading for low 300's,its in that time frame. For the sake of 50rwkw, and no car,leave it stock and leave block intact.
  11. Generic tunes are cruelty to the Barra i6, they should be outlawed. To many blocks going to the bin.
