oil on the coils, though, is worrisome, unless a spark plug was just not sealed perfectly...

true... I guess if it's just a seal issue it's simple enough to fix.

What are those little rubber bits called that are sitting in the coil cover that press down onto the coils?

 

A couple are stuffed but I can't seem to find them on ebay at all.

I'm not sure they have a name or even a ford part number... I just call them rubber spacers, but that's just me. Just cut up some hose to space them up, if necessary until you can get to a clark rubber (or something like it) to buy and cut up some stiff rubber to go into those places.

Homemade spacers it is then.

 

There is a kit on ebay that has the rubber gasket I need as well as cam phaser thingos. I reckon I'll get that.
