Lol I hope your joking about rapid springs. A guy on here has just had the worst experience with them and isn't the first I've seen on here about them.

Go elsewhere imo

Edit; thread is 'New Valve Springs' by jasons xr6 t

Well I had a bad experience with Atomic, put rapid ones in and fixed the problem.

Detonation is when the temp in the cylinder gets so high that the fuel mixture ignites without a spark. It is usually caused by a lean AFR.

Can't say it wasn't detonation for sure but very unlikely as my motor is tuned well within its limits. Plus tuner would have told me when it went the dyno.

Also I have a boost gauge and no sign of overboost.

Fair enough. I guess it must have been enough boost to hold the inlet valves open anyways :)

Putting my engine together this week so if I need new springs it would be good to know before it goes back in. I plan on upping the boost too.

hi guys at what point should I consider doing my valve springs. I havent had any issues as yet and still relatively minor mods (tune, CAI, 100cpsi cat, dump, injectors) but wondering should I replace them as a preventative measure?
