just out of interest how much extra is it for the lim slip from factory?

It's not an option on any of the cars. They either have it (XR6 and XR6T) or they don't (G6ET and all other variants). It was available as an option in the B series on all the cars including the XT but the F series no longer have it as an option. However, Dillz G6ET came with one so if you spoke to the dealer, they might be able to fit one for you before delivery.

I dont care what fords stats are a lsd WILL get you off the lights quicker,

Ignorant much?

It's not Ford stating anything, we're talking published times. The G6ET was better than anything (including FPV) in the 0-100km/h tests, I'm not certain if that has changed with the FG II as far as the FPVs go but it would certainly still have a lower time than the XR6T.

Wheels magazine when the FG was first launched :

XT:

0-100km/h: 7.3 seconds

0-400m: 15.3 @ 151km/h

XR6NA:

0-100km/h: 7.5

0-400m: 15.4 @149km/h

G6:

0-100km/h:7.4

0-400m: 15.4 @150km/h

XR6T:

0-100km/h: 5.2

0-400m:13.4 @ 174km/h

XR8:

0-100km/h: 6.0

0-400m: 14.1

G6E:

0-100km/h: 7.3

0-400m: 15.3 @ 151

G6E Turbo:

0-100km/h: 5.1

0-400m: 13.3 @174km/h

Oh my god you're daft. I've posted 1/4 mile comparisons above to compare open diff vs. LSD in a falcon, which is the topic yeah?.

But anyway, let's continue this game, how many properly setup full-time drag cars run a limited slip diff?

most dedicated drag cars do not run LSD diffs either, they run spools, totally different thing.

Although it does not set out to do burnouts etc, Bels G6ET has never singled wheeled, wet, dry, camber, no camber etc.

Probably none.

5.1 and 5.2, that's way to close to be a definitive answer. Any number of things could of changed that result on the day.

If they were truly better then why wouldn't the XRT's and FPV's have them?

Different target market.

Just to clarify I have never shouted from the roof top that they are the greatest diff ever fitted to a vehicle, all I've been trying to do above is correct a few fallacies as I have a severe allergy to bullsh*t.

For the G6ET I think they have fitted the right diff, but for the boy-racers in their XRs a limited slip diff to enable drifting and other bogan tricks is probably the right call. Us sophisticated G6 drivers are not impressed by such behaviour - especially if it should cause the bowls or zimmer frames to shift around in the boot.

And regardless of what is actually the best the main hurdle is psychological; what is perceived to be the better unit by those with closed minds.
