Actuator Getting Stuck?

Hi all. I'm brand new to this so excuse me if I'm in the wrong thread and not up to scratch with some of the turbo lingo.

I just got my car tuned, BF MK2 6 speed auto, stock except for K&N. The tuner got 290 rwkw which is dam good I think, then backed off a little. For the street tune he made 255 rwkw. He's saying to me that my actuator is getting stuck a bit so he can't get a smooth power curve. Does that sound right or is he trying to get more money out of me?

Any help or info would be appreciated.

Stock injectors would be struggling to keep up at 290rwkw.

That's what I thought. He also suggested I do my injectors but I'm happy to keep them stock so I can reflash the stock tune if I want.

He said my engine is very efficient and it wants more fuel, but I'm more than happy with 287rwkw ( which is what he backed the race tune to) but I don't know what he means by my actuator is getting stuck. He said I shouldn't drive it on the race tune until I get it changed. I don't know if this a way of getting more cash or if he's for real. I haven't tried the race tune out cos I'm kinda worried of doing some damage.

Anyone ever heard of an actuator sticking and what that might mean in terms of hurting my engine or not being able to tune it properly?

Sounds like a "very happy" dyno. Unless I am wrong(wouldnt be 1st time) the engine only puts out 240kw at the flywheel??

K&N filters aint that good.

290rwkw backed off to 287rwkw. This is with a custom tune a a very reputable tuner in Sydney. He has one of those dynos that bolt up to you wheel hub (with the wheels taken off).

I don't know what the boost is. He finished at 8pm and I was tired, just wanted to go home so I didn't chat too much. I will talk to him during the week and possibly go back to get the actuator done. But I don't know if I should get it done, that's why I'm after some advice.

The car only has 48,000 kms on it and soon after starting he said he found boost leaks so he charged me extra to fix those, then he said that my plugs had to be changed ( which I find strange on a car with this many kms). He managed to get 290 rwkw (he showed me this), but said that my actuator was getting a bit stuck and he couldn't get a smooth power curve. I dont know if he's trying to get even more money out of me as I don't know much about these cars and he can probably tell, or if he for real. I spent nearly $2500 and still need to go back for the actuator and he says I should my injectors also. He also advised me not to use the race tune (287 rwkw) and to go easy on the street tune (255 rwkw).

Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated.

Boost leak are quite normal on stock cars. The factory clamps are shit. These car are also known too develop exhaust leaks between the head and manifold and manifold and turbo.

Plugs don't last in these car especially in boosted applications 20-30K kms is normal for a set of plugs. The will give you grief and cost you power as they start too break down.

Your injectors will need to be replaced if the cars making high 200's.

The stock actuators aren't strong enough to control boost when the boost levels are up are 10psi or more. An actuator upgrade and turbo wastegate porting is a normal upgrade for our cars
