November 25, 201114 yr #11 cheers, this change is part of a service or only change if noticing somehting? reason Im asking my car has done 52k and midnights has done 77k so want to confirm if I should be keeping an eye out
November 25, 201114 yr #12 Would using engine flush before an oil change help to clean the screen or does it need to be done manually? I have a new line being made up and it won't have an in-line filter.
November 25, 201114 yr #14 OK, I'll try not to split my block in the process. Are there no detrimental effects from removing it? And is there a flow restrictor hole that needs cleaning also? I suppose there is a thread somewhere I can look up
November 25, 201114 yr #15 is this a legit option:http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/EARLS-BA-BF-XR6-Turbo-FPV-F6-braided-oil-feed-line-/260817476152
November 25, 201114 yr #16 from the Earls website-looks like a special for turbo line kits:http://www.earls.com.au/tech-section/special-offer#
November 25, 201114 yr #17 Yeah mate tonnes of people have them fitted. Remove your filter now or it could cost you a turbo.
November 25, 201114 yr #18 hmmm. after checking ebay there are some available however after asking one of the seller the only legit earls part is the filter. the hoses are not earls-to quote seller:"AEROQUIP HOSE WITH EUROPEAN EATON FITTINGS"waiting on reply from earls about special or go to rapid
November 25, 201114 yr #19 Do not get the kits that have the clear coating on the stainless hose and use crimp style fittings
November 25, 201114 yr #20 cheers Mick! I thought they looked suspect that's why I asked the seller. as for the red hose I was told it was legit earls ...doubt it....my experience is earls genuine has the brand stamped across it
