I am on a very tight budget as im buying a house but I want to get the car to this before I buy so its done for good, I cant stand driving around anymore with a generic tune etc. Ive read allot of posts on here, especially about guys changing their valve springs etc, I didnt want to do mine but realise I will have to to reach this power figure, and going to do injectors, fuel pump and maybe cat, im an Electrician, and have basic car knowledge and auto tool skills but love working on cars and bikes and am passionate about them. The guys that are good with tools even mechanics, I dont have mates that are into cars so its hard to find good help so I thought why not help each other, share our trades, I need a hand witht he mods and in return I will help with the install and do Electrical work if needed? Just a thought for the guys on budgets like me and wanting to mod, and to the guys that have done the mods and have more know how.

In principle it would require a topic thread for each state, and then what services are required/ on offer. For example an Electrician may require a Plumber or visa versa. It doesnt necessarily just have to be mechanical work, although if a Tuner/Supplier required a service or product he could put out a tender of some description and then respondents could reply. In return they may offer a tune/service/product in return. However, for this to be effective trade qualifications or licensing would be required. That way it protects the consumer/end user. Food for thought, Cheers

The reason valves float, as you probably know, is because of the boost stopping them from closing properly so all you have to do is make your engine breathe easy with fewer restrictions and you won't need much boost to make that power. The main culprits would be the cat, intercooler, piping and the aluminium crossover casting. You might want to look at a surge tank with Bosch 044 instead of hacking your stock pump since the utes seem fairly easy to fit them in and the standard pump supplies ample fuel to the surge because there is no pressure. I was doing 12.8's with just a HDi intercooler and a tune with the cat in. I'm running less boost now but making more power with my BA engine with the breathing freed up.

What are are you in? Don't new to worry about fuel pump for 280 in a ute. Valve springs/ injectors/ cat/ xcal and tune. Someone (or I might) should start a section where members can offer there trades on return for trades. I keep offering stainless a concrete tray in return for an airbox, think he's about to crack and say yes too!!
