Took off next set of lights stopped and it was fine. Is this a case that the valve springs are shot? Also I was gong to get a tune later this year if I go heavy duty springs (If they are the problem) will I need a tune? Dillz Three pedals are better then two.. The ZF can seem to jump around in the revs slowing down to the lights every now and then but I wouldn't say it's that drastic. What sort of car do you have? The idle goes off really badly like its running on 4 cylinders the whole car shakes, if I boost it to say 3000rpm it doesnt do it. Its a BA MKII auto and the idle has always been good . I spoke to my mechanic who is a sponsor and he advised me that it is valve springs without looking at it and said I will need to tune it if I put in HD springs. Is tune really necessary Luke? If so, why?And why the new username? As for the tune I'd be inclined to get a health check/retune to be sure everythings a-okay but its not a must do IMHORe username change...why not Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/75360-really-rough-idle-after-coming-on-boost/#findComment-1115724 Share on other sites
spoolxr6 Member 312 Member For: 14y 5m 15d Posted 19/06/11 09:14 PM Share Posted 19/06/11 09:14 PM Valve springs mate. If it was tuned while the valve springs were good then it does not need a retune, waste of money. I may have to find another tuner as my mechanic will not do the springs without tuning it. I just can't afford the whole tune at the momment injectors fuel pump etc. He reckons it changes boost levels etc. Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/75360-really-rough-idle-after-coming-on-boost/#findComment-1115792 Share on other sites

I seriously doubt the springs will change the boost level......As said before, I would at least run it up on the dyno after a spring change just to give it a health check Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/75360-really-rough-idle-after-coming-on-boost/#findComment-1115794 Share on other sites
