Does It Feel Fast?

Featured Replies

Hi all

I find that stock BF XR6 T feels a bit linear (possibly because of 5psi turbo) . Fast but linear. There is not as much hard acceleration as you get in WRX sti.

If the car has 280 RWKW or so, does it feel different? I know it is faster, but does it come on boost in a different (more violent) way

than stock?

Depends on the tune mostly but more often then not the power will stop being less linear and more rapid as the boost increases! Dude 80rwkws is a fair jump in power doesn't matter what your in!

It's all in the tune mate.. I had a tune where the car felt quick, but in my current tune it is quick.. If that makes sence..

Simple answer, yes it will, haha .

Alot of difference in the airflow happening with a stock compared to modded vehicle. Also as the guys have said, stock your looking at 5 - 7 psi (depending) compared to 13+ when tuned with the good stuff so double what you'd normally get. Mainly you're going to be making more power and more violently (than stock anyway) but you're also going to be running a sh*tload more torque which will make it feel great !! So yeh it will feel faster. I've owned a STi, a 330awkw EVO and will be in a stock BFMK2 next week and no doubt won’t feel as good. But also been in a 320rwkw XR6T and yeh they go ok  lol.

The reason you think its slow is because there is sweet f*ck all turbo lag you have full boost from pretty much anywhere, where as in an sti you plant your foot and you prob wont see full boost till around 4k (1bar) so it FEELS like the car is going faster because of the sudden surge in power.

depends on the tune/ mods etc. I went from 350rwkw to 330 when the 3000rpm hi stall was put in. it was hell quicker, but felt really linear. the old tune felt brutal, but the new one with the stall is smoooooth as.

you also get used to power. every mod feels awesome- for about a week. then its not as impressive. :beerchug:

I drove my rodeo around for a week and then got back in the t, planted it, and felt sick. it really is quick, I just forgot until I had a break from it... :surrenderwave:

Yeah I also find it feels much better from the passenger seat. Even stock it felt good when the tuner was driving it.

I'm used to my power now. In contrast, friends who haven't experienced it recently (or at all) are pretty floored. Especially my Monaro owner mate who was massively impressed...but his is stock :)

When tuned it feels like a different car..

Was in a mates Nissan exa lol... It felt quick cause boost didn't kick in till late and it gave ya a real kick in the pants when it did kick in hehhe.. But in reality was a piece of sh*t..

It's funny, when riding shotgun in my mates SS (stock) I knew my car is faster but was a bit worried lol.. It felt pretty quick.. Then we raced lol

the new FG we have is quick, getting quicker too ! it comes on boost and hits max boost, still pulls hard but yes, very linear ! would prefer it to get stronger and stronger to about 5k (don't red line it ever !)as that feels the way all of my previous turbo cars have been, preogressive, not linear ! it's almost like the ecu says, that's enough power and just holds it at a certain level of torque ! feels weird a bit !

I've had mine tuned to ramp on slowish to help traction and keep it tidy on the street, pulls ok till about 3300-3400 then either steps out or takes off, 300rwkw is still alot of poke.

Whent they feel really quick is when they hook up off the line for 2.0sec or less 60ft, then your really stuck in the seat from

Off the line to the top of each gear
