well here goes.After driving like a granny all Anzac weekend I stupidly layed the boot into my Xr6t fg just a couple of blocks from home in Perth. I was showing off to my boy who was in the car(junvenile I know) Anyway long story short just as the fg was hitting a mighty clip I rushed past a intersection only to notice a cop car comming up the road. He was travelling perpendicular to me and was aboot 200 meters from the intersection. I asked my kid if he thought it was a cop and he turned arround and said it had just pulled into my street and was coming after us. By this time I'd slowed down to 50 k's and despite my boys insistance that I out-run him I contued on to my home arround the corner.The cops followed me in. Two policeman got out mighty pissed and said what an idiot I was and said that when I went past the itersection he estimated that I was doing 130 in a 50 zone. they were dressed like acident investigation dudes not regular patrol guys. The car was an older Late model camira wagon without a radar on it. they threatenned to lock me up and impound my car but I got the impression that they didn't have any real evidence on me since I'd already slowed down before they'd turned into my street. One guy even said that my Navman would have logged my speed in it's memory but got pissed when he saw it was turned off. After a lot of crow eating from myself they handed my licence back and wtf no ticket? and promptly left sayin there would be a summons in the mail.... Am I busted?

Did they write down any details from the licence?

probably one in the mail due to not having the ticket book on them.

I played the waiting game when I went past a speed camera at approx 63-65km in 60 zone, thankfully I havnt received anything yet (2+ months ago)

By the sounds of it, you are in the clear cos it's all hear say and there is no physical evidence... but I'm sure it's put the wind up you, which was their intention and hopefully you keep the shenanigans off the public roads ... especially in residential areas ...

It should be ok. I have had police threaten me a few times before making a big fuss at the time but usually can’t be bothered with paper work.

Sounds like ya got away with it and they just trying to give ya a scare. If what you say is correct it would be hard for them to prove in court with no evidence.

There are other crimes other than speeding you can be charged with. At the end of the day they are police officers and you did something pretty damn stupid especially in a 50 zone. Ask yourself this, if you were a cop and you saw someone do what you did, would you let it go?

You should get busted, hopefully with dangerous driving or something similar to keep you off the roads.
