Just noticed this tonight after having my front brakes machined and the pads replaced

the brake (!)warning light is only dimly lit.

Same thing happened to me, I never got it checked though. I stayed off the brakes as much as possible on the drive to work, on the way home it was gone again so forgot about it. Traded it in a few weeks later, lol.

seeing as a ford dealer did the repairs I would assume that the fluids are good but I havent checked yet, its very weird might have to have a chat with the ford dealer tomorrow.

low brake fluid level will make the ligh flicker/light up dimmly. hence the suggestion. Don't assume anything done by a ford dealer is done properly!

I went and checked the fluid which looks good, any other ideas?

Check the actual float it the brake fluid reservoir, they can sink over time. The easiest way is, just unplug the wire and see if the light goes off.

this light came on in my car, and when I checked the book, it said that it was as a result from incorrect, locking, unlocking, and ignition sequence... basically if the car door is locked with the window down, and you reach inside the window and open the door, then get in and start it, the sequence of 'turning the car off, exiting the car, locking the car, unlocking the car with key, entering the car, and starting the car' is broken, and the (!) light comes on to let you know.
