yah only just enough to get the coils to breakdown.

Was in 2nd gear so there would have been alot of pressure & torque behind it. Have done it down the track in 1st 30 maybe even 40 times & never had an issue. I think the killer might of been that I did it in 2nd. They wouldnt play up in 1st gear. Guess I wont try this again unless I really want another box.

The promising thing is that the oil was perfect with no debris & there was no bang. Would of heard something if something went bang I figure.

Car wasnt really flogged except down the 1/4 & even that's pretty rare.

as you said just hope nothing went though the box

I guess that's ones bonus with the pump sh*tting its self at least even if there was other small parts in the oil somewhere without the pump running they cant go anywhere anyway

good luck hope its nothing to bad it really sucks ass when things brake like that ....

cheers trev

I though we gave up a while ago trying to launch in 2nd.

1st works OK.

After bending a tailshaft I won't bother with 2nd again.

Well its been nearly 18mths & over 400kw later & ive just broken my first thing. Cant blame the car or anyone but myself. I really should of known better but these things happen. Dont really want to go in to how I broke it but it was absolute stupidity & it wasnt while doin anything I shouldnt of been doin.

As a result it no longer drives at all. I put the car on a trailer & took it up to SVS. The boys pulled the box out today & drained the oil which was clean as after about 3000klm & 25 track passes (transmax z). They did find that the oil pump on the converter was fd & also damaged the converter. Its goin over to WA asap to be pulled down to see if theres any internal damage. Either way its getting repaired & built tough. Just hope no shafts are broken & have contaminated anything inside. Guess we'll find out soon. Good excuse to start the build up I recon.

bad luck mate not good at all.. hope you get it sorted and will be bigger and better.. yep good excuse to start the build lol

Dont even have a good excuse like that I was trying to test the coils on the spot by loading it up.

I'm not really worried about it was just nuisense because im a couple of hours away from the bloke that works on it. As for getting serious its the first step I guess. I honestly thought this would be the last thing to look at but either way its one less thing to worry about when the time comes. Once we sell one of our properties the wife gave me more of an open slather to go nuts.

I still want to try & crack 10's with an unopened eng but will take what I can get. Either way its a step foward.

Has anyone used these coils?.......

Unlucky mate, but I reckon you are being a bit hard on yourself!

I'd be calling you bloody stupid if you said you wanted to impress your mates with a burnout in the car park and blew it that way! :beerchug:

Once the box is back you can get back to making great progress at the strip!

Yeah probably Pat but ive taken alot of pride in this car & I usually use a fair bit on common sense when it comes to working on it that's why I think ive been so lucky so far. I've learnt something that's for sure. Goes to show abit of power & not being careful & patient ends in broken $hit. lol.

Cant wait to get it back on the road & back down the track. Got 60L of race fuel sitting in our showroom in front of my desk so its keeping me keen. Turn arounds gonna be quick, as they have all the parts & gonna get stuck into it asap.

So it coped with 30 - 40 stall ups and number 41 killed it, that's not too bad for a huge amount of torque going through it.
