I think alot of you under estimate the Jap market.

Personally I think it comes down to shoddy manual drivers. 90% of these cars are manual.

Two mates of mine had worked auto 200sx's, they were bloddy quick cars.

If Nissan or Toyota made an RB, SR of 2JZ ute I'd sell my hunk of sh*t in a heartbeat.

Jman, a lot of these cars arent quick. Drag racing isnt my interest, ive seen them at the circuit with nankangs, chinese coilovers, stock brakes and little power. just sh*tboxes.....a lot of them are damn old now too, a STOCK R32 GTR is hardly exciting and I would wager a FG XR6T would smoke it in a drag race AND on the circuit.......these are damn old cars now with tired engines and creaky chassis.

there are some excellent Japanese cars, and then there are a lot that are just average cheap buys for the young drift types. At the end of the day there isnt a good answer to this question anyway.

There's also a fair difference in weight between a Falcon and a Skyline.

Something the Falcon will always be lumped with.

In addition to my FG F6, me and my business partner are also building a R34 GTT. We are stroking it to a 2.8L using the TOMEI stroker kit, TEIN electronical adjustable coil overs, HKS cooler and exhaust, bigger turbo and custom manifold.....

In short, we are throwing alot more expensive parts at the Skyline and accepting the fact it will never have the measure on the F6. Should be a competitive track car though.

well my mate has a rb26 in his r32 and he pulled 420hp on 11psi now been in that then jump in mine his car is quicker as ive got 500hp but carnt race him as he is building a 2.8 strocker I think it comes down to power to weight as his car is stripped but I did race a mate in a 180 he has 200kw and I did beat him but not by heeps so I do think jap cars goes good as all my mates own them manual 2j aristo with to4z ,chaser, 1j cresseder manual and 4 door 32 390hp

Keep the discussion to your experience at the drags guys, openly admitting you were street racing can get you into alot of trouble...

Once either a xrt or a GTR is modded then its a hard call to say which would be faster. I bet my car would beat a fair few GRT's over 400m but I can also garentee there a lot that would beat me.

If you want to do any type of real comparison then you would put a FG F6 next to a R35 GTR both stock standard. I think we all know the answer to that one.
