Internal Wastegate Porting And Flapper Mod

I have weighed up the Pro's and Con's of the external and internal wastegate mods. I

I have decided to get my internal wastegate modded as I cannot justify the extra cost just yet. I may still go down the external path at a later date as I have purchased a spare housing. Mailny so that the car will be off the road for a minimal amount of time.

I did a search and found no information on who actually does these modifications or the costs involved? Who have you used?? How much did it cost? What was the turnaround time?

a bored out port and larger flapper is around $170. a new actuator is around $170. then add labour for the install if you are not doing it yourself. or u can send your whole turb 2 nizpro, pay like 2k or something, and get the exhaust housing extrude honed aswell. I decided 2 go the external gate after lots of thinkin because its the ultimate and will get the most from the stock turb. why bother with a bored out 38mm port when u can go external and any size u like ? u will end up payin more 4 the internal gate mods off nizpro than u will for an external gate mod off etm anyway .... not that nizpro is not worth it.

I assumed that porting of the housing referred to the enlarging of the port where the flapper seats. I am not really concerned about getting it extrude honed. I am really just wanting it bored and the bigger flapper fitted.

Who does the mods. Can you suggest anyone?

mr turbo is in gaven gold coast, 0755961079. he quoted me $165 for the porting and new flapper. then the new actuator will be about the same price. note that the quote was based on me taking the exhaust housing off the turb, not them.

my car is on 17psi and I was told by elite that 15 would be better but they cant get it to hold 15psi. is this what I need to have done?

Short answer~ YES

yes, u will put alot less stress on things and be set up 4 heaps more power. well worth a measly $350 bucks or so

I got a quote from the same place today for porting $190 and larger flapper is $110. WTF!!
