I was 30 when I got my BF phoon, and still couldnt keep my license. My brother was 27 when he got his BF GT, and both are still going strong and wont be traded for many years. Both purchased new (me in SA, him in Melb), after we travelled to the Syd Motor Show in '05 to have a look see together. That was the same weekend I was carded and initially refused entry at Cruise Bar (no valid ID) on the Rocks too FFS.
