I hear ya. It's completely impractical for me to go any other way when heading up to the oldies...but I usually do.

The fact that that useless bitch running the joint keeps dropping speed limits on sections where imbeciles struggle to stay on the road instead of actually fixing the "national highway" doesn't really help.

I previously lived in Mitchell and still have family out there. Last night no one slept for fear of the water rising. I used to ride my bike through the river bed as it was always dry. The banks of the river in parts are vertical upto 9-10 metres. Its just astonishing to see the flood waters breaking those banks and gushing over the bridge into town.

heres the bridge into mitchell after the water has dropped 2 metres

The river bed below this approx 10m deep and not much wider. that's a sh*tload of water
