They also have wider tyres.

that's how I tell if it's an unmarked car (detectives, drug squad etc.)

Don't have to look for hidden lights inside the car, just look at the width of the tyres.

It's very obvious if you look for it.

Edit: Hi Simon :hiall:

Cop cars , unless they are under cover, but not always run steel safety rims ( Good for running up gutters)

most usually black/silver with 20 mm holes all the way around, arial on back window is dead give away.

The wheels are factory all they do is remove the hubcap and throw away, the hubcap is a safety issue in a pursuit or at high speed etc etc.

So does the wire trick work??

I'll be cut if I spent all this cash trying to go fast if I could've got the same result from a simple 'cut & shut' job...

The FG Turbo cop cars have F6 oil coolers factory fitted. Will make spotting an ex chaser a bit easier to spot. Just look for the oil cooler block between the oil filter and engine block.

Here was me thinking you just had to look for two fat blokes in badly ironed shirts.

Easiest way is to take it to the track and eliminate that element
