02/02/07 06:01 AM02/02/07 06:01 AM #1 I thought I would share with you a good new story.I have had a pair of Mako sunglasses for about 2 years. They were great until my 20month son got a hold of them and scratched the crap out of them on the tiled floor. Being they were stuffed, I went shopping for a new pair of sunnies. As my previous Makos had not been lost, stolen or broken in almost 2 years, I decided to get another pair. Unfortunately they had discontinued the same style, so I purchased ($116 on special) another style. The next day while playing cricket they fell onto the grass and the lense fell out. As you can imagine, I was a bit annoyed, but put the lenes back in. The lenses kept falling out with only the slightest pressure, so I contacted Mako via Email who are in Campsie NSW and told them about the problem and also asked if I can get my original pair relensed. I got a reply back within 15 minutes. They said send both pairs in for repair for No cost.I sent them on Monday via Express post and yesterday I got them back. They had repaired (or replaced, cant tell as they were new) the one that the lenses had fallen out of and also given me a brand new pair of the original pair I had bought 2 years ago for NO COST.I would have been happy to pay for the lenses, but they appreciated my loyalty and feedback.I just wanted to let everyone know that there are still companies that know how to offer great service (are you listening Ford ?)I will continue to buy their products as they know how to keep their clients happy.
02/02/07 06:19 AM02/02/07 06:19 AM #2 Great for you that they were so helpful Do you think that maybe there is a difference in the profit margin, between a pair of $116 sunglasses, where to be fair, manufacturing cost probably account for $5 or less, and your Ford Falcon, and where lots of guys try to get Ford to pay for their damaged cars, even though most have probably been modified Food for thought maybe Edited 02/02/07 06:20 AM02/02/07 06:20 AM by Ninka
02/02/07 07:40 AM02/02/07 07:40 AM #3 Good stuff..Gotta say, I had a similar story with the big Corporate - Oakley.. I had my sunnies - $300 pair of C Wires self destruct when I dropped a spirit level on them ( long story ) Anyway, the lenses scratched and nose piece bent. No worries, kept on wearing them..Months later, the spring in the arm broke. Sent them back broken and bruised, and they sent me a whole new pair!!!! If you're nice, and don't rant and rave, sometimes it pays.
