100mm Minimum Ground Clearance & Insurance

I get the impression no one is bothered by the 100mm rule and how this may impact on your insurance. Have many people taken this into consideration or simply not bothered?? cheers.

I had a dumped Late model camira a few years ago and was never pulled up on insurance claims for the ride height being 'illegal'..

at the time I didn't even think about what it might mean if I was to write it off and not get insurance!

anyone have any expierence with this? having your car deemed unroadworthy due to suspension and being denied a claim?

100mm lowest point is only 1 aspect they can defect/void your warranty on.

The other is your suspension must not be lowered more than 1/3 its travel distance from standard.

That means alot of you sitting on 100mm can have your insurance voided and your car defected as its not ADR compliant.

I dont know about you guys, but I would dread that day my insurance was voided for something like suspension travel.. 50k out of pocket + all that insurance money you pay each year down the drain..

Im getting my ute "lowered" at the moment. 15mm at the front and 20mm at the rear. Hardly what you would called "slammed" but im doing it to improve the handling (fitting Koni's at the same time) the last thing i want is a defected car or voided insurance...The big purple money pit gets bugger all attention from the cops and i want to keep it that way...

Good choice luke, it's shaping up to be a well packaged ute now!! I'd say your big feral cat would be on the edge of 100mm though?!!?

I dont think so its only a 4" and its tucked up quite high....i'l have to measure it.

I've got an F6 clutch coming for it too.....
