Front side windows - 35% is darkest legal, although 30% will pass the pits.

Rear windows can go to .... 20% I think........it's darker anyways. I bought my car with 17% on all round. Looked sweet.... But mr copper didn't think though. Expensive exercise to be wrong

Even at 17% it was fine at night. Wish I could still have it.

Yeah there's different shades of illegal tint.

My VE has real dark tint, never had trouble from the filth but it can be a pain in the ring in dark streets turning into driveways or just on some intersections. Usually cured by winding windows down.

My T ute also has illegal tint but not as dark and I don't have the same problems, even though its still too dark by law.

I'm talking more for reversing. When my Subi had 25%, I couldn't see a thing while reversing unless there was something to reflect the light off

That's why cars have headlights Ciaran, and unless you're Drift King, I doubt you're looking forward out your side windows...

Seriously though. My brother's hiace has some seriously dark tint, and you've got to go windows down at night in suburbia. A hassle, though it does look porn.
