I'm from Victoria and all the mates from work with XRs are getting high 50,000 out of the original set of tyres.

Currently the dealer has a XR6 in the yard with 58,000klm and the tyres are still roadworthy.

The other thing is the T is a HEAVY car and must have the correct load ratings on the tyres.

Spending $275 per corner for Michilens is the best mod you can make for your car as it will give you safety and performance.

You spend $50k+ on a car, so you should compliment it with the right shoes

Not sure about longevity of the GP3000's but I have done 14,000klms and tyres still look new.

My front-end align guy told me to run them at 40psi and they are even better than they were before - great road feel and straight tracking.

When I come to change, I'm going for some sticky tyres cos' I'm a little worried about it letting go sometimes when I give it the boot. Also wanna stop when I wanna stop!!

Anyone with an opinion on Yokohama's??

I found Hankook Ventus Sports lasted me ages. They are a hard compound, very long wearing tyre.

Crap if you need traction in a hurry and the tyres are cold though....

7000kms and original rears are choofed. Front are good. Id say driving style might have a bit to do with wear. I got 40,000kms out of 285 pirelli's driving gently.

Did you mean SP3000 or have Ford changed what they are fitting?

Also, I found the SP3000 on mine grip very well. Certainly much better than what I've had on any Ford previously (but never had a turbo before) :-)
