Hi all,

As some of my close friends here know, PASHEN has been running like sh*t for the last few months. It's been surging, stalling, turning off at the lights, overboosting, not starting first time etc etc. This was the main reason it didn't sell, I believe. Prospective buyers weren't too impressed when it stalled and the turned off at the lights, trust me. But until I sold my home, I couldn't do anything about it, even though I desperately needed to.

I took PASHEN to HPF a week ago. I just picked her up tonight. When I arrived at HPF last week, the brief was to fix those drivability issues. Also, while they're working on it - give PASHEN a better spread of power in the low-mid range. Not so much more power, just more of it earlier on and a more even spread.

Here's one of my graphs. I'll have to post the other two (incl the GEEA + PASHEN comparison) when I receive it from HPF. This was on my 19's...and shows my before set-up (with my PHASE unichip ) to my after (PHASE 3 hardware with EDIT). Ignore the RWKW (as dyno's are just a tuning tool...lol), but observe the before and after difference. PASHEN was an APS PHASE 3, tuned to 310rwkw on 17's before this. Will post more graphs when I get them.

On the road, the result and difference is AWESOME. Feels like a different car altogether. All the problems I was experiencing are GONE. This in itself was worth the $. BUt under hard accelerating, the power is everywhere..straight away...damn its hard to describe...it now feels angry and has MUCH more urgency than before. Heavy throttle just burns them up so easily its not funny...and stays burning rubbber until I ease up. Even with my 275 mm rubber, traction is a real problem now.

The Rev limiter is now set at 6500, with power increasing up to 6300rpm. The APS exhaust sounds SO damn hot at above 6000rpm. Boost remains the same - 15-16psi max. that's the same boost levels I had before, but look at the difference. Trust me, the NEW PASHEN would leave the old one 5-6 car lengths behind at a traffic light drag....as long as I have traction.

I couldn't be happier. I felt that the whole forum should know about this. With a highly modded T like mine, with bigger everything, and provided its installed and CUSTOM tuned by a tuner who knows their stuff, the EDIT is THE way to go without a question. HPF know their stuff. They are now my tuner of choice and PASHEN will be seeing them for every service and upgrade from now on.

I still can't believe the difference on the road...and this is what its all about for me. Charts, rwkw, etc are all bullsh*t if the car doesn't go hard and is drivable. PASHEN now goes MUCH harder, but now drives and behaves like a stocker off the factory assembly line. What was initially an emergency fix for a major drivability and reliability problem, has become not only that, but has transformed my car in the process.

Sounds great Dave, glad your enjoying it. Here is the Rumble vs Pashen comparison graph. This is my high tune (not race tune) and I believe that it's your high tune aswell (not race tune). The difference early on is amazing. I'm guessing that on the track this could/should improve 60' times a lot.

Thanks Craig. Yep, the red line is my high tune (not race tune), compared to yours on the blue line. I still have stock internals, hence not wanting to go stupid with the power. Pretty nice early on, huh?

And the thing still starts first time now...I'm a very happy chappy.

That’s a great result Dave.

More torque at low revs is consistent with the results of JB & Nizpro’s car, which should give much better drivability.

If it removes stalling and overboosting, then it’s well worth it.

I have the following queries that you could put to HPF.

I don’t understand why it shows so much torque at lower revs, with the torque curve going down progressively, from a much higher starting value. 10000NM at 95kph defies belief. It is also inconsistent with the way turbo cars work, as torque increases as boost increases.

Maybe it has something to do with the torque converter (higher revs compared to manual at lower speeds), or the way the runs are performed.

For example, if you check out JB’s published dyno graph it shows 6000NM at 95 kph vs your 10000NM; at 95kph JB 160rwkw, yours 263rwkw.

It would be interesting to see the comparison results via rpm instead of kph.

It would also be interesting to have described how they conduct their dyno runs.

Well done Dave it sounds awsome and I we will hall have to get together soon to check it out.

Brian I believe that Dave has a 2800rpm high stall (Correct me if I am wrong Dave) and that this would be what is causing the torque multiplication you see early in the dyno graph.

I have a 3300rpm high stall and I was on the APS dyno on Monday and they too were having issues getting an accurate dyno reading due to the high stall in my ute.

The car seems to have it all over the previous tune everywhere though so it should be good fun.

Glad you are enjoying the car Dave!

The high torque reading is due to the stall converter and torque multiplication!

Can't wait to see how it goes at the track! bring on the 11s...

We kept the tune at a safe level as Dave still has std internals however there is alot more potential there..we did make more power but pulled it back a lttle.

I am intrestesd to know if any of you guys have looked at fitting engine oil coolers?
