.

There was a blown LS1 SS at willowbank on wednesday night that would have been glad to give you a run, very sexy sounding engine that one.

I raced him Darren if you are talking about the white ute, he got to look at my hiney all the way down the track, though by the end I think he might have been squinting. Yep me & my little $3500 investment KICKED HIS ARSE,

Respect LS2 my arse.

No I am talking about the red VX sedan, its a gen III and I saw it do a 12.7, but he seemed to be launching very slowly, he was out there a few wednesdays ago too, and he was all over the place on takeoff, awesome sounding car.

Holdens suc..... No go away Expensive Daewoo lovers and lick your crutches....

I have seen a very smooth T run a very smooth 12....

I have seen  a forced induction ls1 battling to run low 13's.....

They may sound good but so does a nissan motor at 11,000rpm....

Expensive Daewoo site is elsewhere.. Please refrain from dribbling here

Well I have seen posts like this on Ford related as well as Ls1 forums.

There will always be one eyed diehard fans that can't see past there own ideals.

Then again there are plenty of people that give respect when it is due, regardless of what badge it sports.

there are plenty of Ls1's pulling good times with a cam, zorst, edit and diff gears, but I still think the T is a better modded car on the street.

know your enemy I say.

Back to the original post, there is no mention of HSV Maloo...is this the car that the guy actually encountered? It will be the only Expensive Daewoo ute running the 6.0L fuel in-efficient Yankee engine.

When he chatted the guy, he told him it was stock.... so it had to be Maloo.

Between the lines lies your answer.

in all reality they are both great cars, but if you want to talk about great all round car that would beat both in a straight line race and around a track and you can pick one up for around the $70,000 mark then get your self a R34 skyline, up the boost and new exhaust and computer and you will be running in the 12 easy.

Hey say what you want to say about jap cars but these things will compete against most things with ease, you can have all the kw in the world but as someone else said there are a lot of 4 cyl out there that would fry all of our cars and they are street legal

OK.... To make it simpler for you waankeers....

Ls1 or 2 for that matter is an American motor that has been developed by a company renowned for big displacement high output V8 Muscle car motors and ford australia 6 cylinders a renowned for running mum to the shop in the station wagon or getting hammered for 1,000,000 km's by irate taxi drivers......

So Chevy big muscle car motor that has been developed over 3 decades, is slightly faster than a Turbo Taxi, unless you spend what was it 3000 then you can kick its ass......

Yep credit where credits due alright waaankkkers....

And saleen,,,, Sorry dude but no-one can make you look less of a fukwiet.............

why dont Expensive Daewoo design a engine that is build in australia not some rubbish that they import from the states that's been in a corvette, if it like that just buy a corvette, in my opinion I dont like buying a car like that its just a try hard corvette get a car that has a engine no other car has, to me these ls2 are still dinosaurs its the year 2005 not 1960, and I cant believe these Expensive Daewoo people are rippng out 80+k for these Kingswood based engines. Bring on the BARRA turbs....

my opinion

Just buy a corvette you say, I bet some americans are saying those commodores are half the price and have the same motor and therefore performance potential as a vette, so buy a commodore. and yes it is 2005, and that dinosaur is still putting out more power than the boss v8, we all know that the ford v8 can have a lot more power extracted from it, but the Gen III/IV v8's are in the same boat.

Well, I've been a Ford fan all my life... Its in my blood.

But I'm sick and bloody tired of these morons on top of the Ford food chain denying the end user ANY sort of out and out performance v8. We simply don't have one. Tell me one engine, that revs, has torque off idle, has a wicked mid and top end, is compliable with all emission laws, is relative and fits in the falcon without modification, and has the potential to give near 280rwkW in near stock form. Name one. Expensive Daewoo have nearly 3. That is infinitely more. 3 doesn't devide by zero.

Ford need to put some serious cash into an engine developement plant in Aus. We can build bad arse engines here. We have some of the best engineers in the world (who get hired and flown overseas funny enough).

We Aussies under-rate ourselves. We have the best sports people, we have something like 5 world renound scientists (as in, if you were ranking them, top 10 sort of thing) we have the most skilled and well trained army, we have the best harbour and we have some of the worlds very damn best engineers, who are just begging to be given a clean slate and told "here, build me a v8!"......

The money needs to be spent, Ford US need to be given the middle finger and told what to do for once. Someone in ford aus needs to strap there balls down and kick up a serious stink about our engine situation, because I for one am totaly sick of it. Ford aus really do try you know, but big brother just ties our hands. Ford aus need to be given the resource to cut loose.
