Hey Martin. What were the details of your 1/4 mile run in the ute. doers 280rwkw's 12.8 sound about right? What about the ET. What sort of tyres were used. Trying to get a comparison for Pretzels car.

I have no wish to enter into the Pretzel debate, but when I ran 12.9 in the manual T it had no more than 275rwkw and tipped the scales at 1720kg. There is another thread for that....good on him anyway for getting out there and giving it a go. I am sure he will (as I did) go faster with more practice

One of my customers with a boss powered ute and tuned via the Unichip at APS has run a 12.6 ET at approx 108 MPH though some guys reckeon the Interceptor approach has no future. Peter

Just pointing out the current facts Martin Donnon................your edit tuned Boss GT ran an amazing 13.8 @ 104 MPH...............gee you must be stoked with that ET and MPH you guru tuner. :lol:

The APS tuned Unichip Boss engine only ran a 12.6 at over 108 MPH...............not bad for a strap on ey tuna.

The APSedit is not far away from release and APS will host a number of forum tech days to demonstrate the APSedits capabilities for forum members.

Did you go to Calder Friday night to watch the GT?

Did you tune the car? Just read Peters post obviously you did.

What area of the edit do you think you can make changes to improve the performance of the car?

Assuming of course the customer wants to make changes.

Cam is just a guy, a normal guy with a car that took it out the track, with relatively little experience, and ran it down the strip for some fun, by himself, on a Friday night. Its his car he wanted to do it, and he did. I dont even know how he shifted it, or if he used the extra engine rpm on offer etc.

None of which sits easily with you. I know that. The fact that it wasn't stripped, on slicks, running a bigger converter, with every bolt on elixir known to mankind hanging off it must be hard to comprehend. It wasnt a workshop special, nor running/tuned for race gas. Just an average guy, with a nice car.

You forgot the biggest thing though Pete. Since I edited the car it no longer stalls every time you pull it in and out of gear like it did with the Unichip. The owner no longer wants to sell it. You guru you

Martin you tuning guru the GT in question stalled with just the stock PCM (no Unichip) it was a Ford problem unless you blame the Unichip for the stalling when not installed.

Think about it. :lol:
