Hey why complain about a mod being too cheap sounding ;)  Beats most other companies who think becuase their mod works on a 50K car they can screw the price up an extra margin.

*grins*  I'd be interested in knowing what's in the little box?  a little PIC chip or just some passives?  *ponders*  not that it really matters - at $55 - $105 it's cheaper to buy it ready made and tested than frigging around learning how to DIY ;)

Without getting too far into it, I think there would be a potentiomiter and resistor, the resistor to lie to the cars brain and tell it solinoid voltage is all good, the potentiomiter to vary the voltage being supplied (remember the supply wire, second in instructions) to the line pressure solinoid, more volts = more pressure, the top of the line model gives you a cabin mounted potentiomiter to vary the voltage between two pre set safe limits.

How did I go shiftkits.com, does that get me a discount back down to normal?

I would have thought it would make difference on the strip, but since Deans car has the trans modded it is hard to tell, anyone have one on a car without a modded tranny but with a few engine mods done to thier car?

I am willing to be a Guini pig if you like shifty????

Still, I think they are good value and welcome aboard.

I know that SCT Advantage will let you adjust the shifts as well, but one thing I did realise yesterday (Melbourne had 39mm of rain) is how good it is to be able to turn it off when you need to.

With the shift kit in line the ute couldn't change into 2nd without stepping out sidways and losing traction, flick the switch and and bypass the shift kit and the car is back to normal.

An update on my experience with this item.

Deano installed the shift kit in my car on Friday before we headed to Calder. I also lost first gear in auto mode when the switch was turned on. I had first gear in manual mode. Thisis possibly because the trans has already been modded.

The shift kit does work and will make your car change quicker. I beat my old PB by 6/100ths of a second with a similar 60' and a mph that was over 1mph slower than my old PB. That means that the shiftkit has probably improved my time by 1/10th.

For a $55 investment you cant go wrong. It's easy to install and also helps utes in the wet by making them start in 2nd.

I'd recommend it to anyone that is going to go racing down the 1/4 mile.

Question ... will these shift kits operate correctly on an unmodified Auto allowing first to be selected???

Cheers, Jason.
