23/04/04 04:01 AM23/04/04 04:01 AM #181 Regarding your question about APS PHASE II ¼ mile times, the ones that spring to mind are customer’s vehicles with 12.5 sec in a sedan and 12.6 in a ute run at Calder, though sorry, I don’t know what make of tyres they were running.PeterAPS I think I recall that both these times were run on slicks. I'm happy to be corrected though. Geea.

23/04/04 05:37 AM23/04/04 05:37 AM #185 We're all happy you have your certificate. Now can we all get over it. Good question! Can you?I didn't bring the subject up
23/04/04 05:53 AM23/04/04 05:53 AM #186 So if you go and buy a brand new car and don't register it a drive it on the road, is that Ford's fault that you are driving an illegal car on the road? NO! Dealers, modifiers whoever, can only give you the goods to get that car registered legally, if YOU do or not is up to you!I didn't realise that new car purchase worked differently in Victoria. In NSW if you buy a new car you don't drive away with it UNLESS it is registered. The dealer does that for you, and the registration and green slip cost was a part of the deal. I bought 3 new cars last year from different dealers in NSW and that process was the same in each case.Brian What if you want a car for production car racing? Or to build a drag car?
23/04/04 06:07 AM23/04/04 06:07 AM #187 Depends if you want to keep the car roadworthy and legal or not? See the thread on "keeping your car legal"HERE" Mark,Re:I didn't bring the subject up Actually you were the one who started this diversion in the first place, the 4th post in this thread. It's been interesting though.Brian

I have trouble remembering what I had for breakfast let alone what I wrote a week ago, especially with how many twists this thread has taken. At least I know I'II always get a bite with a single sentence like that!BTW I spoke to a guy last week who had his insurance refused because of mods!
23/04/04 06:47 AM23/04/04 06:47 AM #189 No worries. Was that insurance refused or a claim refused?Last year one company refused me insurance because I had a claim (car stolen) within the past 10 years (actually back in '96)! The car stolen was highly modified, with mods listed, and the claim ($24k) paid without question. Not all companies are the same.Brian
