Ahhhh. Good old Denmac. My old stomping ground. How is old "Steele Willie"? Congrats on the purchase.
  2. My eyes have been soiled!
  3. Probably about time I put some of mine up. This was the last time she was fully deatiled too. Will have to get motivated and do it again soon.
  4. Only in your humble opinion Shaneo!

Not true. I have had ny x-drilled & slotted DBA 4000's on for over 18 months now, and not a single crack. You just need to mate them with suitable pads.
  6. I remember the original Sprint in black & white. That got a lot of my 20c pieces too. What about Gauntlet? Remember the dialogue "Wizard needs food badly. Wizard is about to die." Could never get further than a few levels. Summer games was another favourite, but the button wore out fairly quickly on that, especially with the running events.
  7. Galaga & 1942. Can't say no to these whenI pass them. However, due to inflation, I have also noticed that 20c is not enough anymore. It is now $1 for some machines. Oh well, at least I'm earning more now to cover it.
  8. What does "SANNIVERSARY" mean on those stripes? Surely it needs to be "5th Anniversary" nice and clear. And besides, the 5th anniversary (for those here that are married) is usually wood or silver, not stripes or leather. As others have said, it's just a try hard to move metal.
  9. Now I need to scream & cry for having watched that.
  10. Well, just picked it up from Elite, and all is good. Feels very solid, and shift pressures were spot on. The only gripe is that there is a small vibration at idle, which is annoying, so I will be taking it back just to make sure. Now I can't wait to open her up and drive her how she was meant to be driven. Bring on Willowbank.
  11. Well, I picked my car up an hour ago, and it seems to be OK. I won't know fully until it's been on the Elite dyno tomorrow to have the shift pressures checked. Can't wait to get back out to the strip and give her WOT, and see what she does without a searching box. The service at WSA was very good, and the turn around was really impressive. Now we will see how Graham builds his boxes. So far, so good.
  12. If you want to drive as far as Ipswich, then talk to Aaron at Crisp P&P. He has done a couple of my cars, and will appreciate yours for what it is and treat it with care.
  13. I got some Super Pro camber bushes from Driveline Services put in, cause the inside of my 18's were wearing pretty badly, and I didn't want my 20's going the same way. Gave me something like 6 deg more adjustment?? From memory, it cost somewhere in the region of $300 all up including supply, fitting and alignment. As for swaybars, had some put in 4 months ago. Car is back at the workshop now, cause Whiteline supplied 27mm bushings for my rear 22mm bar. No wonder there was a knock and squeak coming from the car.
  14. Well, after driving my car for the last 2 days (I don't drive it that often any more), I think the time has come. I am going to see Graham at Western Suburbs Autos today, after he was recommended a second time by one of the boys at Driveline Srevices. Spoke to him yesterday again, and he seems pretty switched on about things. I have put a link in to his website, which I also had a look at yesterday. Doesn't say he's done many Ford's, but has done a few other makes. Anyway, it has to be better than what I have now. Driving around in 3rd, scared to sink the slipper incase a tow truck is needed. Will keep you updated. http://www.wsautomatics.com.au/

Carn the HAWKS! Outsatnding effort by all. Hope Ladson & Croad will be right to take on North in 2 weeks.
  16. I have been in the "Game" for nearly 11 years now, mainly with Ford & Toyota. I haven't been in F&I, but have sold both New & Used cars, been a 2IC and a Manager before. Like the others said, the days of the "white shoe/gold chain wearing, gold tooth" dinosaur salesman have gone. People are far too educated now (some even know more than the salesperson about a particular vehicle). Customers, IMO, are now looking for great service more than anything. Let's face it, if they don't get what they want from you, then they can drive 20 mins down the road and find it somewhere else. F&I guys do work on a retainer plus commision, but the structure is different to sales. It is usually worked on how how much over "base rate" they write the finance at. EG: if the base rate is 9.5%, and they write a loan at 10% for $30k, they get paid a percentage of the .5% of the $30k or similar. Honesty is the best policy at all times, because remembering the lie is increasingly difficult. As for the sayings " If the customer's lips are moving, then they're lying". Hope this helps.
  17. Our DP has told us to keep collecting it until things are set, and the doc's are signed. I do agree that they have probably already spent what they have collected, so don't hold your breath for a refund.

Ring Tyronne from Stopmaster in Newcastle. He sorted me and one of my mates for lines, and I couldn't be happier.
  19. That is f*^kin funny! If this other co has approached you, then you have a fair certainty of being employed by them. So you don't have anything to lose with your current employer. The only thing holding you back would be if you haven't made your mind up if you want to go or not.
  20. They should be able to just swap the correct interior from a car in stock (if they have one). 1/2 day maximum.
  21. I agree. I don't need my 7 year olds seeing that kind of stuff. There is a time and place for everything. Like when they took the "Chicko Roll" girl down, and also the "Windsor Smith" add too. Sure, they were nice for us to look at, but it gives the wrong impression to kids.

Bout time you got on here Jamie. May see you out there tonite, but don't hold your breath. If I don't, good luck with the 13 second pass. Just remember that you need to stop too! :auto:
  23. I have been looking in the last week too, and I have come across 2 places which may be able to help. One is Precise Automatics in Beenleigh, and the other is Western Suburbs Automatics in Rocklea. Beenleigh was straight out of the Yellow pages, and when I rang him, he was very keen to do a great job with replacing everything in the box to hold the power reliably. Told me somewhere in the vicinity of $4900. Western Suburbs was a referral from a friend. They did the powerglide in his 383 stroked EH wagon. He was also very good to talk to, but wasn't quite as comprehensive as the other guy. He was somewhere around $2500 for the job. My box has not completely given up, but it is now searching quite badly between 2nd & 3rd with little or no load. I was also told that if I wait till it blows, then the price will go up. As always, it probably comes down to the old "you get what you pay for".
  24. Best I have been quoted was for an FG F6, Auto, Steel in colour, leather, alloy wheel option & mats. $66500 on road inc GST in QLD. Not bad seeing as how you can't get them yet.
