the last twin turbo I drove relied on a broad rev range to be effective ... actually I didn't like it that much ... felt brittle some-how unlike the XRT which is in a class of its own ... the XRT hasn't got the 6000-8o00 range when one can pull miracles .... like the GTRs, TT-Supras and other hp in-liners a Garrett40 at 6psi is only "lighty blown" to say the least, if it got to 12 or 18 then one could use engine management to emulate the action of a twin turbo ... is it the bottom end of the rpm range we are really talking about ? :( if it is then we should have got V8s ( :D j/k)... nothing like cu"s
  4. good outcome ... we sometimes forget the good things they do ...

I think the plastic liner tub has been modified, the utes don't really have wheel arches as such .. check out the Ford site and specs for utes .. saw it when I was buying the ute and thought that it was a clever way to protect the shockers etc etc on the XRs & P

there myself till all hours currently at .4bar (6psi), the turbo is on holidays !!!! B) as for cylinders 1 and 6 starving .... good grief !!! twin turbo's are for Vs & opposed donks and maybe for 2 stage high rpm racers actually I think the n/a XR6 is real ripper to start off with ... more go than the old old XR8 (oops ... did I say that ... soorrrrryyyy )

.15 in the morning in a motoring event through public roads handing out instructions at 160+ ... could have killed the kids cheering him on ... .... IMO can't be harsh enough he could have got totally sh*tfaced after the finish but no..... bring on the dogs and make him remember
  11. esky ... great post .. well thought out but why why why is it so very far away? .... :tears: from Melbourne

50kg ... struth ... definitely a two man job to get off and on ... eh?! how is the big boss sled Charlie ? are you still grinning ? :D :D tango ... 590kg including you ! and the go juice.... another interesting thing is to note that the distance between wheel arches in the tray is about 1150mm in the XRs and Pursuit as distinct from the 1250mm in the XT ... Ford did not want the XRs (&P) carrying sheets of plaster or whatever ... pretty clever tango ... you will love your new XRT sled .... well balanced for an ice-skater  j/k enjoy
  13. shopping trolleys lookout .... :D
  14. the car felt "tight" eh? ... that's good to hear ... the renters usually act as a guide to what lies ahead ... as for the police, they are everywhere ... you have the right to remain silent, right to an attorney etc etc

not sure on the hard cover weight ... would guess about 30kg the Ford utes generally weigh more because of the hybrid chassis ... the weight is in the "rails" ...this is why the utes are commonly referred to as "sleds" :D hope it helps ... let us know about the hard cover weight though I like the soft tonneau

    sh!t ... thought I heard this on the radio this morning ... but I thought I was dreaming ..... that's bad ... absolute d!ckhead ... unbelievable !!!!!! I'm pissed
  18. Chris .... I too thought svtang had left the building ... but came across this thread this morning and couldn't help myself .. :D I was crazy with feelings of hard done by and sorry for myself for awhile :( but now am enjoying both cars heaps :D the way I should've been all along Cobra vs XRT .... the Cobra for raw impact (it's a real-in-your face beast) ... the XRT for ease of driveability and smooth power performance ... once you get the Cobra under control ... it is the faster car with more feel after the XRT gets modded ... no contest
  19. all's welll that ends well ... you had 30km DTE ? how many ltres left in the tank and what was the slope ?? the gauge and computer are sus IMO
  20. ktford ... funny you should mention that ... my better half has a sedan and I've got a ute ... and have been puzzled by the general stiffness of the rear skirt on the sedan
  21. May update ... 15.8 .... hilly driving mostly ... 2100 on the clock
  22. SVTANG ... get over it buddy .... the Cobra is the only home-groomed Ford rag-top with the best damn V8 on the road !!!!!!! how much has your attitude changed from when you had that grin on your face while driving it out of the dealer ? heaps I bet beware the consequences of anexpensive low volume run .... especially with an inevidable run-out sale !!! you should have known better
