@Puffwagon and whoever else that has valuable info, im looking at high mount efr 9174 on sinco tune length manifold, Does heat become a problem with high mount turbo? What other issues is there if I go down this road? The guy selling the kit reckons there is just enough room to get a 4 inch inlet pipe in without relocating power steer res. Kit has a ts 60mm gate which I will plumb back in. I wont know how much room everything has for clearances till I have mocked it up on engine. I will need a new 4inch inlet pipe to airbox. New 4inch custom dump, new alloy overflow tank. Does the weight of a big manifold and big turbo hanging off side become a problem? Cheers guys

@Puffwagon Cheers for that, so the only downside is worse fuel economy? Whatabout long distance cruising, will it get too hot? Will it drive off line from standstill the same under light load and flooring it?

Hi Guys, what do you reckon a borg 9174 with t4 1.05 twin scroll on a sinco manifold and 60mm ts external gate would be like for the street? Too laggy? Theres a kit here in nz for sale for a good price. Would need p steer res relo and probably alloy rad overflow tank. Probably be as laggy as gtx3582r im guessing and alot of messing around to fit.

I think HI PSI already has IMS diff hat because I thought he told me once and said they awesome. I can confirm they are great now after taking on the project myself and fitting one to my Slow xr6t. No more clonks and clunks.

@Typhoon when you say you run a solid tensioner do you mean a posi stop atomic one or stock one? I've put a posi stop on my 400rwkw barra, should I put a stock oem one back on?

Man that sucks!! If it's too tight, does having enormous kws make it a worse problem or is having it a click too tight bad anyway? Now I'm getting paranoid cos I installed my atomic posi-lock tensioner. I feel for ya man, this territory adventure never fails to entertain your followers, good thing you enjoy it and can spin a spanner.

Must be a ballistic missile! Are you going to do a qtr mile run? Soft launch it so you don't smash the drive line. What is the weak link in the driveline, what trans has it got?

@BeerTurbo I definitely wouldn't think so. I've got 400kw so no where near needing bigger exhaust housing. 4 inch dump so it breathes well. 3582r .70 comp housing, stock 1.06 exh housing with wg plumbed off housing. Goes very well.

Sweet thanks, my tuna couldn't get stock ecu boost control to behave, neither could another tuna. Jet said he could do a remote tune for a small fortune which I couldn't justify or afford, so for free I ran it straight off gate and it's mint apart from not having ecu protection. Will it still go into limp if it detects overboost or detonation ?

@PuffwagonMy boost control is bypassing the stock boost solenoid. Tube straight off alloy intercooler pipe about 4 inches after compressor outlet, my ts45mm gate has 19psi of springs in it, car boosts 16psi at 2500rpm till 4700rpm then falls to 14psi to recline. Do you think if I instead run a tube off inlet manifold to wg it will hold 16psi? Also not that im worried but do you think the wg valve is getting pushed open a little by the exhaust gasses causing it to only boost 16psi instead of 19psi? Youve already advised me not to boost it more cos it's getting full boost at low rpm and may bend rods.

Yea could be worse. But looks like it's gonna get a lot worse from here, they trying to ram through co-governance where Maori who are 16% of the population will have 50% power if not more and also 3 waters where we will have to pay Maori for water. We are all one people and need to get on with life. They are causing division and racism. Covid was bs and also caused a lot of problems with mandates and vaxpasses and masks and crap.

Our NZ PM resigned today, not really expected but most of the country will be celebrating yeehaaa. She has screwed this country over bigtime over the last 6 years and bailed out today cos couldn't handle the heat any longer and has no answers for all the problems her government has created. Good riddance.

Could be sagging a bit, it moves up and down about 5mm but firmly, like it's in firm rubber, never clunks or anything. Cars only done 38ks

So I took @Puffwagon advice and made 4 driveshaft hoops, I made them up in a fashion that I didn't have to drill any holes in the car, and used existing bolt holes or studs and used longer bolts. I can't remember which one of you blokes wanted photos but here they are. Also a few photos of ims diff hat, my custom 4 inch dump with turbosmart 45 gate plumbed back and catch can vent tube and drain pipe under car.

Twins that will make your power will be just as laggy as a big single and as you all know way more complex and heavier than a single. The bug has really bitten you hard hasn't it puff! Good thing you love fixing broken stuff! There will be more breakages coming. Are you shooting for some kind of territory record? My dad used to tell me as a kid, "man is never satisfied " he was right. Do you want it to be a street able monster or a drag weapon? Only you can decide. That's my 2 cents worth. I look up to backyarders that make cool stuff.

Poor man buys two pulsars! I heard that awesome aussie saying on here. I Mish matched a Garrett together. Actually bought a new Garrett gt3582r core that is supposed to have ceramic bearings and also bought a second hand cheap unused older gt3582r complete with .70 comp cover and 1.06 externally gated exhaust housing and swapped the cores out.

I did tell you no doubt more components will soon break. Too much power going through that throttle body lol. This is a great adventure! I'm watching keenly.

So to ask the question again, how important is the suck? Or is it fine just breathing to atmosphere if you have big lines to can, my 2 lines are 19mm id and my can has a 32mm hose off the top of it that goes to under the car so I don't get any fumes coming into cabin. And a drain tube off the bottom of the can that goes under the car also, it has a tap on it.

Imho the amount that comes out onto the road over the distance you travel is minute, but yea I spose if you drive a similar path each time there might be a slippery line up the road lol. The liquid you see spitting out car exhausts in town must be a similar substance surely but burnt.
