I'm looking to replace the front swaybar too. My car is stock. So I'd take it that a front swaybar on it's own will do the job - that is without lowering the vehicle or changing shocks/springs. Can someone please advise. Also, what if I decide to lower the vehicle at a later date? Would this type of swaybar cause any problems? Thanks.

I have a XR6T BA MKII auto. I am now using Mobil 1 Syn 5W-50. (Changed it at 20,000km) Is this ok for the car (engine/turbo etc...) as the book states 15W-40. Will I void the warranty? I don't drive the car hard all the time... I'd say about 15% of my driving is what I call hard driving. I see people here are using 0W-40, 10W-60 where as I'm using 5W-50. I'd though I'd be in the middle! What do you think guys?

Hi, I own a XR6T Series 2 with Luxury Pack and am wanting to replace the handbrake with the leather type (like whats in the Fairmont Ghia). Does anyone have instructions on how to remove the original one and on how then to install the new leather type handbrake? If so, can that person please provide them to me. Thanks inadvance.

Hi, I have a XR6T MKII auto and I too looking into getting a CAPA custom tune - with no other mods. Sounds like option B is what I want. Can anyone tell me how many kms you are getting out of a tank (using RON 98 - I use BP Ultimate) before and after a CAPA custom tune (with no other mods). NB: I currently get around 430km out of a tank (80% city, 20% hwy driving). I am curious to see how much juice people are using after a CAPA custom tune. Thanks. NB: I am after a CAPA custom tune (like option B above) but a conservative tune so that the driveline is looked after in the long term.

This sounds cool... I have a XR6T MKII with factory sunroof. Can you change the light color for the sunroof controls? And if so, can they be changed to white or blue and how much? Better still, if possible can you give me the instructions on how to do it including part numbers? I think they are currently green in color.

Just letting you know with the latest update.... Ford have called me and have comfirmed a rep from ION is going to test drive the car. Now waiting for a call at to when this is going to happen!

This is correct. In addition to the above "scenarios" everything is also fine if you select Performance/Adaptive "Auto" mode. With regards to scenario 1, (usually) you need to accelerate hard upon take off for this problem to appear. But now it occurs (more regularly) by just taking off 'lightly'. I spoke to Ford yesterday and someone from BTR is going to give me a call (one day!). Ford say that this is normal and within spec (I wish I had a $1 everytime I hear that!). Ford also say that I should have bought a manual if manual mode is my driving style. What a cop out. Does anyone know what the problem maybe? I'm not 100% sure if it's the auto. Could it be the "computer" isnt giving me 1st gear even though the dash displays "1"? I appreciate any feedback.

Cqae, The firm thud/clunk it whats happening to me. I've now done around 12,000km but this problem was evident from new - but only very intermittent. Now it's happening more often (but not all the time). Anyone else with this problem? The other day, I made FORD give me a car from their stock (had 4,000km) for a test drive and I could not replicate the problem. I'll post a message on how I go with FORD.

I'm hoping someone can help me out here. I own a XR6 Turbo MKII auto trans, has luxury pack - Feb 2005 build. The problems I am experiencing ONLY happens in "Manual mode"- that is by moving the gear selector to Performance Mode and then manually changing gears. The problem is: Upon taking off (from a stand still; hence in 1st gear as displayed on the dash) my car "jolts/skips". It's as if the auto is "neutralising". This problem ONLY happens when I have manually selected 2nd, 3rd or 4th gear and upon a complete stop the dash then displays 1st gear (WITHOUT me selecting 1st gear). If I select 1st gear (or select Performance / Adaptive 'Auto' mode) and then take off, the problem isnt evident. Can someone please shed some light here. What could be the problem?
