  1. Just hope these new Simmons dont cheapen the reputation and image of the originals.. that's all..! Good wheels will stand the test of time so lets hope these are the biz.
  2. Admirable sentiment, and yes, you're spot on.. most of us are simply too lazy to make the effort to bring about a change.. Elections loom, so ring your local member and ask them what they plan to do about the current situation.. especially call the potential future members, for you would imagine (or at least hope..) they are receptive to taking a more proactive and meaning position... but like we have already read, its up to each of us to try to make a difference... Otherwise, sit back, crack another tinnie and when you receive your next fine, bend over and lube up!
  3. Dealing with the problem of road safety is multi-faceted and is really hard. Setting up lots of cameras is relatively easy and also easy to sell to Mr & Mrs Public, simply blind them with enough misleading information, excluding the data that doesnt support your case and you're home. People need to see past the media bullcrap and realise that we are being conned!
  4. Governments of either persuasion quickly become addicted to the revenue they generate, further milking the cash cow that they take motorists for. The true value has and will always remain debateable, but the money they generate speaks much louder.

  7. Hi Quadzy, First thing I would check is that the cooling system has been purged of all air ie. there is not any air locks in it. Seeing that the coolant reservoir is high up on our vehicles you would not think that this may be a concern as its the highest point of the system so you would expect that the air would eventually head that way, so that they would leave the system full of coolant only. Make sure that the hoses to the converter are all nicely full of coolant and are not higher than the reservoir.. Seems strange that yours is running hotter... Maybe its also running leaner?... which wouldnt be a good thing at all. May be a good precautionary thing to do, running it on a dyno and getting accurate AFR's... I would have hoped that they did that as part of the installation and gas tune? Play it safe mate and get this checked out before it poses a bigger problem... Mal K
  8. Thanks for the clarification, Im sure that for a serious towing application, you would be far better with a 'Cruiser, Patrol or suchlike, built for that kind of work, day in and day out! Nothing beats a real 4WD in that sense. For occasional towing like I do, Im hopeful that I wont strike any major issues, especially transmission related. Im of the understanding that ZF's can be a little tricky to fit aftermarket trans coolers to, may pay to check that one out a little more before pounding the trans too much. I have a trans builder locally that can upgrade the internals using 6HP-32 parts, all genuine of course, for a couple of G's, which works out cheaper that doing an LE-95. Still, best not to go there if there is a better way. Mal K
  9. Hey Quadz, that's a great number indeed, mines closer to mid-9s but that's with a tune and more boost, so naturally, more gas. I just couldn't leave it stock when it responds so well to a little tuning. Either way, its a great way to have performance and economy to boot! Great stuff indeed! Mal K
  10. As for towing, each to their own.. Ours tows the car trailer and tarmac rally Capri well, towing mass 2200kg and its no problem. Surprised to hear the Teritory Ghia Turbo is only limited to 1600kg, sounds like another Zap typo eh? Have to consult the manual and see what the go is, seeing as the factory made 2300kg towing packages for a vehicle limited to 1600kg?? Time to dig deeper., Mal K

  16. Hey Dog, I wouldnt hold my breath waiting for a V8 Territory when Fraud already have a performance variant in the Territory IE Turbo I6. I reckon the major re-engineering involved for a small selling specialist version would be prohibitive (Please correct me if Im wrong.. ) cost wise... Still, the thought of it is quite tempting, especially if they use a supercharged version! The Turbos tow easily enough and power-up as effectively and cheaply as any T or F6. Still, makes interesting food for thought. Mal K
  17. Hi mate, If you have the heavy-duty tow pack, the max allowable is 2300kg, with the standard towpack its 1600kg if my memory serves me correctly. Hope this is of some help. Mal K
