    Rims.. 18x7.5..

Hey all, Im looking into some rims at the moment.. The ones I really like come out with a max of 18in x 7.5in Firstly.. Whats the widest rubber I can lay on them and 2ndly, is 7.5in enough for spirited driving? (if I get decent sports tyres) thanks in advance. Bain
  2. like what exactly?? :o <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Playing playstations and xbox's in the station.. I know as I know 2 cop mates who do it on late shifts... (when they are assigned to station duty that is)
  3. What was your lead time on the car markg? and what month/year is it plated?

    May Build 05

Howdy all, Ive ordered myself (well company) an XR6T Mk II 6 speed manual. I got a call today to say that my car would be a May 05 build. Does this mean the car isnt being made till may or that its currently being made but wont be plated till may? Also, anyone with some experience as to how long it possibly takes before it gets shipped out to my dealer? The options I got for it were: Winter White Sunroof Leather Premium Sound I was going to be buying JB's car, but my work had a hissy fit and said they would only buy a new car, if I didnt like that I could look elsewhere for novated leases

Yeah I didnt mean I was gonna thrash it. Hard acceleration and gear changes at higher revs rather than at 3k is what im talking bout

to add to the questions the original poster had. Should you be almost red lining a new engine to bed the pistons and other components or be babying it? Ive been told to cut back about 10%- 20% of how I would normally drive to bed in the engine. Seeing as most of the time I will be driving if fairly spirited like.. Ive actually done this for my past 2 cars and never once had an engine issue (one car doing 115k km's before I traded it in and the other 45k km's before privately selling that too)
  8. I havent been on this site for long, but these have been a hot debate of late.. There is a search function just up top. If you type in EDIT + Capa you will have yourself a bounty of info you could read for hours on end!
  9. If you were to pull it back to stock you could happily message me and we could negotiate a price that I could take off the flasher unit + injectors.. As for selling it modified or not.. If you sell it privately (not through forums) You will probably have more luck selling it stock as people wont make the automatic assumption that its been flogged to hell and back because you added some nice bolt on bits.. (even though you probably havent flogged it)

    Stripes

Yes it is true.. The new stripes are 1 thin and 1 thick stripe along the bottom of the car. Looks very nice! You could probably get aftermarket ones cheaper though. (where to get them? I suppose any dealer will do it for you.)
  11. His ute has 195 rwkw and is stock I would be quite confident betting that he would run a quicker time than a 15. He might even give your 14.3 a fair old shaking <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Somehow I think the ute will be posting mid to low 14s mate. A stock Magna manual 3.0litre and 3.5litre will run a 15 flat to 15.3.. (have plenty of 1/4 mile time slips to prove it to) So given a magna gets hosed easily by an xr6t, its safe to say they should be running low 14sec passes..
  12. I checked out the ford web site and they are giving free leather seats with a mark 2 at the moment... otherwise you can choose $2000 worth of extras. 18's would be nice <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The free leather seats arent included on the XR6T.. As stated on the brochure and website.. But im sure you could get them to chuck it in..
  13. ahhh yes the magna VR-X that brings back some memories http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/index.ph...topic=14050&hl= <{POST_SNAPBACK}> hahaha I just had a read of that thread.. Mines not an AWD its a fwd.. and it only runs low 15's.. Whoever that dood was, was smoking some awsome crack!!
  14. Sounds awsome! Have you thought about any rear end body work? Shorting the rear axles and cutting out some of the inner boot to put in fatter tyres? (for more traction?) Is it meant to be a daily driver or just a pure track car?
  15. My Car at the moment..
  16. ugh.. one of the worst colours they could have brought out! I can see women driving around in that colour.. But a guy?? Then again.. I guess its all in the eyes of the beholder
  17. Hehe.. Well I work for a known company that is close to Ford r&d.. Cant say much on the forums mate..
  18. Cheers for the info guys! I didnt think there was much mechanically different! Jordak: hehe, gotta have a manual mate. Its just something that makes it more pleasing to drive!
  19. If you would like to be even more accurate it is due to be released in October
  20. Hi All, Im in a bind at the moment, im tossing up whether to pay an extra 10grand for a MkII or buying myself a nice Demo/New MkI for around 40k. (manual) Is there a site or something that compares the two, or at least goes through the list of changes done to the MkII? The only thing I can think of is that it now has a 6speed and that's it? If this is the case, I would be better off getting a demo 5 speed and throwing in a higher specced gear box right?
  21. thanks Goldie.. sweet choice of rim! Im just decided which colour car to get Its looking like a black or white atm.
  22. Hi All, Just wondering if anyone has anymore pics of this car.. or those rims on another coloured XR6.. (white or black xr6 if possible) http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/index.ph...cmd=si&img=1995
  23. Just becareful because some of the mini tripods (the cheap ones that cost about $80 and less) go all flimsy and the clips break.
  24. nice pics mate. Might I suggest a nice tripod aswell to take your pics (you can tell the wife you need it so you can take "portrait" pics of the "family").. Some of your first ones are a little blurry.. I wanted to use the first one as a background pic but it was too blurry..
  25. A quick rule of thumb. For optimal viewing distance it should be 3 times the diagonal width of the screen. So check out where your lounge is first and then measure to where you want the tv, divide it by 3 and youll get your ideal screen size. Too big, too close and it will look and pixelated.. O the other thing, if you dont have surround sound, be sure to take a dvd or something along with good bass to test the inbuilt speakers.. some off 'stereo' sound and all you get is tinny crap...
