Hey guys, Can anyone tell me where my thread went about the wait time on getting a new T? I didnt receive a PM from a Moderatior so im wondering what happened to it?

Is this a standard thing from FORD? I got a call from someone in the know about my car. Apparently im looking at mid June before I will get my car!? The Sunroof can take up to 2 weeks just to get put in.. And its not even done by FORD! I was told that Turbo's arent usually lined up to be made like the XT's and such. They only make them on order... So my friend is looking around for a white 6 speed T with premium sound and we will organise it to be transferred to the dealer im buying from. (I dont like my chances though) and then we will get the leather/sunroof done at a later date... Im pretty off that ordering a car can take so bloody long! I know in the early days it could take up to 3 months (what a joke) but sure they would have sorted their out by now...

Thanks for the response bs888 Think ill call Herrod to find out a bit more info on the shifter.. I want to know what theyve done to reduce the throw of the stick.. Herrod 6 speed Sure Shifter.

Howdy Folks, Anyone got 1 of these modules or the 5 speed version. Just wanted some opinions on what they are like and if they are really worth it? From the design, have they just shortened the top of the stalk or have they actually moved the stalk over towards the left more?

Country cops are usually worse for speeding as they are pretty bored. I used to live in Orange (NSW) and they would book you if you were 6k's over the limit.. Although to be fair, there are some decent cops out in the country.. (plenty of stories to tell about that)

They're a winner alright.. I had them on my previous car... Awsome traction in both the wet and dry and unbelievably quiet.. I will be buying another set for the T when I get it. (wont even be using the current tread on the T)

Its 7 days from date of contract signed (when you receive the car) on new cars, its not so much of a refund of money as such, just a 'do everything they can to make the car how it should be within those 7 days' .. then its subject to standard warranty. (from memory when I purchased my Hyundai Lantra 9 year ago.. never had a problem with that car either..) I think its even in the contract when you sign it, unless its a clause or something now.

Get it in writing and if he cant get you those figures ask for a full refund.. Bet he wont agree to that!

You mean premium sound right? Retail the cars are 46k + onroads then theres the $985 for the premium sound. So with doing a bit of haggling you could get the car for around 45k + onroads....

Bain I personally would be running my car in first before you go out and mod. It will gvive the car a chance to bed in and loosen up. You will not see strong figures from a new engine, this has been proven. Also knowing the problems these car's have had out of the factory I would wait until 10,000k's to see what crops up. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Very true.. Perhaps it is best that I wait a bit.. At least then I can get used to its handling characteristics a bit better.. Guess ill buy those 18's ive been wanting instead

Hi All, Once I get my T it wont be long till it heads into HPF (will do around 3000km's before taking it in) for an edit and perhaps some springs + injectors. My question is will the stock exhaust handle around 260rwkw's?? My initial aim was to get around 245rwkw's but then I figured while its in for a tune I may aswell put the injectors and springs in and moderately tune it to 260rwkw's till the engine clocks up a few more K's So can the exhaust handle that? or should I just tune it to a lower 240 - 245kw's and not worry about the springs/injectors until later down the track? hahaha.. I had that too! I was racing XR6T's and modifying them, draging wrx's etc etc.. all in my dreams.. felt like I got no sleep! Then it came down to the colour of the T.. that was hard.. Shockwave, Sillhouette, White, Mercury Silver.... all top colours.. I think I changed my mind a good 100 times and each time I would discuss with SWMBO my reasoning for X colour.. By the end of it she was sick of me talking about cars.. I settled for white.. as there arent that many T's around in that colour.. The black would be too hard to keep clean and swirl/chip marks show up real bad on them..

There is actually 3 options The XR Sports ($1980) seats are Black with charcoal trim (stitching) and a red XR stitched into the top part of the seat. The luxo pack seats (part of the Luxury pack $49xx) and Luxo XR seats ($2500) allow you to chose the colour stitching you want from about 12 colours aswell as chosing a different type of leather for the middle part of the seat (perforated and some other wierd round circle one) The free leather doesnt cover the XR6T but I managed to get one quote where they chucked it in for free.

Im looking into suspension, swaybars, strutbraces, brakes, valve springs, injectors etc etc Im not sure if youre allowed vendor review threads. So if you cant list your 'favourite' online store in terms of response time and customer service, can you send me a PM with their details.. I wouldnt mind checking a few out.

I was in the same boat as you.. WRX or XR6T.. I chose the T.. (currently im awaiting delivery May 05 sometime) WRX = theft magnet WRX= Cop magnet WRX = expensive to modify (if you plan to) WRX = expensive on insurance As for your options with the XR6T.. dont get the luxo package as its a bit of a ripoff. My previous car had climate control and I never used it. Go with the Premium sound ($985) and standard leather which is Black with charcoal trim on the seats ($1980) it sure beats paying the extra cash on the luxo package for climate control and a centre clock. I ended up paying $47,400 (inc onroads) for my car and that included leather, sunroof, premium sound. So you have the option to haggle on the quoted price youve been given. In the end, I chose the bigger car as I like big cars + the benefit of being able to seat 4 grown adults comfortably while having a bootful of crap.. Also I want to tow things (boats, bikes, junk etc etc)

It could very well be the 18's. When I took a mkII 6speed for a test drive, I was managing a chirp from 1st gear take off and changing into 2nd gear with TC on..

Black spurs is an awsome run.. All the way up to Lake Mountain. I still prefer the GOR runs (Great Ocean road)

I disagree, id debadge the whole car and leave 1 turbo badge on the back.. It breaks up the smooth lines of the car..

Sweet.. My old car had 17x7.5's with some nice sports rubber and they were great.. So I imagined it wouldnt be to bad upping the rim size while staying the same width. Sweet.. I guess I will go ahead and order the rims I wanted..

Well im hoping its early may, or its going to make my drive to sydney rather difficult.. (no car) hahaha 20th of may is drive to sydney day..
