  1. Thanks for that, Groper... glad you cleared this one up for everyone! That report still makes dam good reading for us paupers, though....... (*reaches for dictionary....*)
  2. Late reply on this one - apologies..... Job done = "pedal linkage adjusted and lubricated". Don't know if I'm still stunned or completely P!zt off. Crawled into pedal box area, and there's enough lubrication now to kick start a wild Friday night in Oxford Street. Cleaned up the spillage. How it can be adjusted I have no idea - looks like a solid linkage to me. Anyone know? Have had a couple of opportunities to try WOT out - certainly seems to be a hell of a lot easier than it was, and certainly no hint at all of sticking. Just live in hope that the electronic gremlins don't grab it again anytime soon.
  3. Latest Wheels landed today......... 18 page VERY comprehensive tyre test on 235 /45 / 17's - summary as follows, but well worth the read. 4. Telstra have A LOT TO ANSWER FOR !
  5. And for heavens sake - REMEMBER - keep the drivers window down when you're driving so you can see round the A pillar.
  6. Geez Wazzo - don't do this to me. I'm trying to save some $...... Looks totally different - almost heading down the Geiger Mustang track....
  7. OK... good news - there was no quibble from the guys at Torque Ford - full setup is being replaced on Thursday. They were horified, had a quick look - no obvious glaring problem - and asked for me to be first on the line on Thursday a.m.. Their thoughts are around potentiometer and kickdown mechanism. Will let you know if more comes to light on the day. Green - car's been mine all the way... so no previous damage. Hiddeous - will try that again - but already had a pretty fair shove on it and it *seems* ok. Dags. What can I say. Many thanks for your hours and hours of searching through various threads useful and not. (Maybe HE"S the one that is able to use the search function.....) Oh - and Tab - still no sign of the ...... In the meantime - remember - if it sticks on the floor and you're heading into the scenery :fear (5): , neutral is your friend.
  8. Yeah Jo tried that theory.... in fact first thing I looked at. The mats have a cut out and don't sit under the pedal.... even if slightly sideways. Cheers.....
  9. Thanks Jet - will keep looking.... or I might even use the search function.
  10. Whatever it was Tab..... it's not the sort of problem that the average mum and the kids would enjoy, me thinks. And with the lack of any other response, this is certainly a rare occurrence - if indeed it's ever happened before. More after my discussion with the dealer tomorrow.
  11. Welcome you guys..... That was Scotty, who can - at times - be a little opionated about gearboxes. And various other things for that matter. Including something called "strap-ons" - whatever that means. Anyway - the ZF 6 speed semi auto box will stand you in good stead for many years to come..... have fun and read on through the many chapters of experience herein.
  12. The counter case against the state from Troy's team is strong - but being the good old US of A, anything could happen - and this petition can only help. The whole issue was a dreadful tragedy..... from the day somebody thought the "safe" stunt up to the minute they carried the last body away.
  13. Nah - checked in the various orrifi for the stray animal Tab - nothing. Thought of the throttle body being a tad sticky - but as this is fly by wire, and the pedal was stuck on the floor, I'd say it's just something physically wrong with the pedal box mechanism. Weird.
  14. Yep - interesting morning it was. Onto a ramp into a 70k zone, gave it a foot full and the dam pedal gets stuck at wide open position on the floor. What to do - lit up the rears and whizzing past 70k's and it's all happening fast. Threw it in neutral and kicked the pedal a couple of times - 3rd time it lets go. Pull over into a parking area. Crawl underneath into the pedal well.... nothing obvious apart from what feels like a detent switch just prior to full extension. Floor mat was out of the road. No wires or cables in the way. Weird. Spent the day running around at half throttle or less. NOT happy Jan - off to see the dealer tomorrow to ask for a new pedal box. This'll be interesting.... Any ideas anyone? Has anyone else experienced this MOST unpleasant of Holy Schittteee moments in a T?
  15. I think it's the way she's holding the chalk......
  16. (emphasis on abused....)

    1. get the dog some boots 2. put the weights on them to make it liveable!
  18. MJ - from a fellow Brisvegasite..... have had sports leather in both my BA and F. Never had an issue in summer - the suede centres and leather is a great mix. Bit of elbow work with some leather conditioner every couple of months, and it stays like new. As Pat mentioned - mix it with the lux pack and you can't go wrong.
  19. Guys - working with Juddy's team for the Winternats, so that's out. The next two don't look too much *%$@# better. Chic...... might be a case of you being tail end Charlie-ette. Will see what I can swing Tab.... but don't put me in yet. As for shouting ANYONE a WEISS bar in the middle of bludy WINTER in TOOWOOMBA.......... come on - that's inviting pain.
  20. ok........ right.......... I've got it now.........
  21. galvanise
  22. Well done mate - 10 and still going. Congratulations. We've just cracked our (Silver) 25th. No easy ride - but a certain sense of achievement now. Tab will probably now say something like "that explains everything....." Ahhhhhhhhh. It's a great institution, marriage..... no doubt! (Institution: brick building appearing to be a hospital with small padded rooms and special jackets with straps that the guests wear....)
