Yes I've seen another F6 running 350rwkw with the single 3.5" unit, but that is showing signs of failure. AFR's - anything from hi 11's to low 12's.

Update on tune. I think the spring tension in the actuator is starting to fail from the few simple tests I've conducted. Boost has significantly dropped from the last tune, although power has increased ever so slight. I can't say I'm disappointed with the result seeing the low level of boost the turbo is running, but I'd rather have the boost consistant higher in the rpm. I'm assuming once I have the actuator replaced with a stronger spring tension unit, power will pickup too. My target is 380-400rwkw without exceeding 15-16psi, on the stock engine. The midrange feels quite strong, with a lazy 900nm @ 3700rpm. It feels every bit of it, as I discovered when attempting to overtake this morning. Rolled on the throttle in 3rd gear and wheelspin city! I had plans to head to the Fast Friday at the Motorplex, but with the MT ET Streets not arriving until end of next week I thought it would be a wasted effort on street tyres. I'll rectify the boost, fit the tyres and then have a run.

Yeah, I received no notification of my 48hr ban until it was almost over. Email notification of topic replies hasn't worked since the weekend either. BTW, how's the info for sponsorship going Adam?

Steve, I had a Pedders Camber/Caster kit fitted. The kit cost about $175 plus fitting. I also had Nolathane bushes fitted to the top arm to eliminate wheel deflection during hard braking and cornering. The car runs 2.5 deg negative camber, and 7.5 degrees positive caster. Drives and steers heaps better

http://www.bsmsport.com.au/ OEM Brakes, no issue with insurance etc. Like I mentioned to you in your other post, $1000ea for the 6spots with brake pads, I think the rotors were around $300-$400 ea genuine Brembo's.
-
That's a good time. I ran 57's in my auto VT when the motor was stock, on RE55's, some 5 years ago. Barry Smith Motorsport is selling 6 piston Brembo's for $1000 ea including pads, I think the rotors are $400ea. Would be nice upgrade for the front. The Territory rears work well too, over the stock rears. Do you think the intercooler is obstructing airflow to the radiator?

By running too much exhaust gasses through them. I've managed 328rwkw with 1 3.5" Metalcat, but it almost folded itself inside out within a week. A tell-tale sign is lack of boost at high rpm, and a whistling sound in the exhaust. I'm not singling out the Metalcats on their own, I've been though 3 SMB 4" cats too. F6 UTE has had a SMB cat failure too. I looked at a twin 3" ceramic cat setup on a car that's been running 300rwkw for over a year now, and the cats look as good as the day they were installed. Just goes to show sometimes a product isn't as good as it's made out to be (metallic cats).

Well, you have openly called yourself the best, and openly bag other tuners at the drag strip. ( carefull who you speak to.... ) Part time?? yes, BUT You are listed under one ( defunct ) tuning shop as there CAPA representative, and SCT tuner?? ← Careful who you hear from. I have my opinions, and state them if asked. So do others (you included). Sure I'm listed as a dealer. It's the only way to aquire the software. Quicktune wasn't and still isn't available, although I suspect some people probably wish it was. Don't know what happens when you buy the software 2nd hand as some have.

Good to see someone else able to post good data. What turbo are you running now? Where you need all your power between 5000-6000rpm, I can have my power between 3500-5200rpm. Over 5000rpm it's all done. The advantage of the 6speed auto is the ability to keep shifting gears on demand, and the engine remains in the meat of the torque curve. All this while the converter is locked too. Good luck on Wednesday. I might bring the car down on the factory Dunlops and see how it runs before I try the MT's.

hehe.. you haven't been here long at all have you?? harsh?? it's called honesty, and alot of people should be more honest about there opinions around here, other than sugar coating them as to not lose 'friends'.. But, it's a family site, and our thoughts and publicly viewed opinions have to reflect that.. M6 is doing alright, but he has to accept he can and will learn. ( But he proclaims to be the BEST tuner in WA ) I also am not going to sit back and tell him he's ( or anyone else ) that they are wonderful if I believe they have to look for something.. And then, we take it to the track.......... I am open to criticism on my car/tune aswell, I take it on board and accept there is room for improvement.. ← Street Tuner told me the day you stop learning is the day you've hit a brick wall. Well, that brick wall isn't anywhere in sight, and I keep on learning. Best Tuner is WA? Nope, there's always someone better. Considering I do this part time as an interest only there'd have to be people who are more competent than me.

The track results speak for themselves. ← Your right, and I recon when you look at Phils car doing (no nizpro kit)12.0@118 on dunlop tyres with a truck sized cat and dump as you have nicknamed named them(and a stock exhaust)and a set of those dodgy nizpro drilled injectors(according to you) and one of my tunes, hes doing pretty bloody well isnt he. ← Yep, he sure is. 12.0 @ 118mph is a good time on Factory Dunlops. It would be good to see how his car goes, and Gregs, Ben's and mine, even yours, on a Fast Friday with a decent track. The track condition on WAW's are fairly ordinary, and quicker times could be have by all..... but until then 11.81 @ 122.6 mph is a fair bit of difference to Phil's et and MPH. You've seen the boost and AFR's I run in my car, and can form your own opinion how I make power and how much is left in Phils. I decended on the Nizpro kit only because I ordered it for the T, but traded it on the F6 before it arrived. I will highly recommend the truck size dump pipe and cat after having sh!t multiple 3.5" Metalcats.

You guys get any lap times?
-
Thanks guys.

No, money well spent in my opinion. It's only managed to run 15.5psi @ peak rpm. Power and torque will increase as boost is increased. I plan on running 18psi with this turbo, so we'll see how it goes. What are you looking at? The peak power figure on this dyno sheet? You should look at the sheet showing boost, mixtures and torque. This data is rarely shown as a whole. I reckon you may be right, if I were to gut the cat, run astronomical boost, change the stock dump pipe for an aftermarket one power would come up. But that's not my approach. Ping is not power. I can't comment on Gregs setup. What mph does it run? Considering I've picked up more power and torque over what I had before, it should run a better time, traction permitting.

The track results speak for themselves. ← So Jason are you going to back to back the results at the track in the same trim? ← Dunno, might wait and see what Darren's car runs first before I play with mine a little more.....or his.

Thanks. I'll let the et and mph do the talking, rather than the rwkw figure. ← Hey M6 XR6T, Heres the Nizpro Stage II + BF F6 track results equipped with standard OEM compressor wheel!!! Ummm howz 11.5 @ 125.5mph sound EVEN with a 2 second 60 foot Posted: Wed Nov 01, 2006 8:52 pm Post subject: Tune house Nizpro break F6 record -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jim from Tunehouse just rang me to inform me that their Black 6 speed auto F6 this was one of the car we helped Jim with when we were is NSW a few months back just ran an 11.5 @ 125.5 mph with a lazy 1.99 60 foot. The car is running a Nizpro stage two kit plus exhaust and fuel pump. Running on 98 octane pump fuel with M&H tyres, they are syill at the track and this was there first run so hopefully better will come by nights end. This appears to be the fast zf auto in the land, Good one guys Let me add that Jim has been doing all the tuning on this car so now there is no reason not to see him for all your work if you are Sydney based _________________ Proprietor Nizpro Turbocharging Bayswater Victoria. (03) - 9761 1522 ← Great, so who's doing the work, and who's claiming the credit? Nizpro? Tunehouse? Jim? Looks like everyone is claiming a piece of the credit. It's a great result nevertheless, and let's not ignore that. That I run the Cobra kit should I share in the credit too? After all, it's a Nizpro product, who supplied the same kit to Tunehouse, who tuned the car that ran 11.5, and so on, and so on. And where does Angelo's F6 fit into this picture that you mentioned before? The only F6 on Nizpro's site runs a flat 12, and they're claiming it's the fastest in the country Tuning shops have to be at the forefront of development and results. Imagine if a few more folk like me were actually motivated to put some effort into working on our cars. Self endorsement does not give you credibility, and as such, you'll always have detractors, like yourself.

Trade price is around $1400.

Thanks. I'll let the et and mph do the talking, rather than the rwkw figure.

Thanks Scotty. Nothing quite like a dyno racer trying to tell other's how it's done. The track results speak for themselves.
-
Thanks for the feedback. I don't think it's that far off Nizpro's stage II kit, if any at all. From memory, Angelo's car dynoed 253rwkw stock. That's 23rwkw more than what we're seeing on Dyno Dynamic dynos. What time does their F6 run? The strip is a good lie detector, and dispells any rwkw myths. We all know that rwkw figures mean , and are easy to make/fudge. As for potential, it's the quickest F6 in WA, the third quickest on these forums, with the other 2 being in Sydney from memory. And that was before the turbo mods. Remember, I setup the car and tune it myself, without having to draw on the resources of other's in the automotive trade. I'm in the building trade by profession, not a mechanic. You won't find me on the phone to other shops every 5 minutes to figure stuff out. I'm still trying to find the stats and track backed results for their F6, like they have of their Territory.

During the week I had the turbo modified, along with the installation of a 3.5" dump pipe and 5" cat at APC Wangara. The turbo is modified with a bigger compressor wheel, machined compressor housing, wastegate port enlarged, bigger swing valve assembly, new bearings and VSR'ed. Dynoed the car on Friday to gauge the difference in power. The car made a maximum of 328rwkw running 15-16psi boost and 780nm of torque with the stock turbo. I'm not an advocate of running stupid amounts of boost with the stock turbo, as the excess pressure is wasted due to the rediculous compressor outlet temps. Hence the upgrade....... Power is now 347.4rwkw and 920nm of torque (will post torque graph tomorrow) at a modest 15.5psi. The initial boost flare has been fixed, car feels very strong. Turbo is noticably louder, with more induction noise. It spools up just as strong as the stock unit. That's an increase of 19rwkw and 140nm without raising boost over it's previous level. I'm going to lift the boost to 18psi from it's current level, and see what results are produced. The bigger turbo is supposed to be good for an extra 200rwhp, and is good for up to 18 psi boost. I can't tune more boost into the car with the setup I have, and have to determine what is causing this. Perhaps it's the factory blow off valve bleeding off boost, maybe the factory solenoid can't handle the flow and pressure. I might try an eboost controller to see how it goes. It's off to the drags in the next few weeks sporting MT ET Drag radials. 11.8 is what it did with 328rwkw on street tyres so it should run a low 11, hopefully. It's a fine line though running a low 11 and getting banned from the Motorplex if it manages a high 10
-
Yes I've seen only a 10rwkw gain on a 10psi generic tune for a BA MkI manual.

If you think the bars, springs and shocks make a big difference, wait until you fit a camber/caster kit for the front. I had the Pedder's kit fitted last Saturday, and was gobsmacked at the difference in handling. I'm already running Kings, Bilsteins and adjustable f/r bars. I had 2.5 degrees negative camber dialled in, along with over 7.5 degrees of positive caster. The factory setup is garbage compared to this. High speed stability is sensational, and cornering is even better than it was before. The nolathane bushes also make a heap of difference by stopping the top arm from moving under heavy cornering and braking load.
