Trumpy and Cro helped me install my gauge today, and its great! Looks super. Extremely happy with it. Colour match is fine. BIG thanks to YCL for organising it all and a big thanks to the boys for helping me install it. And thanks to Cro fro the beers!!!

Holy sh!t! Ive been selling complete XR8 air cleaner assemblies to XR6T owners for around the $240 mark! Complete with air filter! Might have to mark the prices up a bit....... :lol:

I "heard" New Gel here in ACT do a Carbon fibre XR8 bonnet for around the $1800 mark........... dunno if its true or not.

15 - 40 is the correct viscosity oil that Ford specifies in their Maintenance and Specs book in your owners manual. The oil is in fact called Gas oil. :banghead: not sure why, never asked! I would very much like FORDTECH's response to this topic, and what goes on at his dealership, and what oil they use. And his personal opinion.

I already have a Blood Orange/Red (fireglow actually) falcon, 2 White falcons, and I dont like the maintenance side of the darker colours (Phantom/Silhouette), so Merc Silver was for me. Simple really.

I just ran out and looked at a freshly delivered Pursuit, and no, bonnet padding free..... They dont list one for the XR8/GT either. Will be interesting to see if your padding "sags" if you know what I mean, due to no clips holding it up near the bulge. Keep us posted!

Ummmmm................... I personally would have used the "factory" tips, not those fatter oval tips, but that's just me being picky. Other than that it looks good.

Out of curiousity, what happened with your sound deadening/heat padding stuff under the 6cyl bonnet? Are you using the 6cyl one, or are you just not using one at all?

Kirsty's car was egged while she was driving it along Drakeford drive one night, I got out and sandshoed after them, caught them (dunno how I did it, I was pissed!), rung the police, they said they would send somebody out straight away, nearly 1 hour later still no police! What choice did I have? Had to let em go. Little pricks. I think I scared them enough not to do it again though.

I think there is a new Krispy Kreme store open on the Cumberland Hwy near Liverpool. Me and Kirsty are currently working out how long this trip would take us from Canberra! :lol: I finished all mine yesterday on the trip home :( Mail order anyone? :lol: :lol:

Rob (saleen1) has hit many a pot hole, and I dont think his rig has a vibration it.... im sure he will confirm! Maybe chuck on a spare and go for a fang? Or even better still, borrow somebody's spare 17in/18in wheel and tyre and go for a fang? You can use one of my 17's next time you are in the area.

Soooo close! I took delivery Monday 16th December, mine is a December build, I ordered it in October sometime. Chris got his reasonably early I think.........
