I found carsales to be the most cost effective when I sold my AU. I spent $10 to advertise on carsales and about 75% of interested buyers came from there. I also spent hundreds of dollars advertising in unique cars but only about 25% of interested buyers came from there. My advice, wack a for sale sticker on the window, keep it on carsales, and goto to Galant forum as Redhawk suggested. Chris

Have a squiz at THIS. I have seen someone post here before a while ago talking about the TSI unit, and I think from memory they actually called themselves unigroup. Try a search for this person then check their posts. As far as I know redcliffe (dynosteve) use there own computer which I think was made or programmed or something to that effect, around Sydney. I think they called it RDP or something. Sorry for the sketchy details. Chris

Thanks for the interesting info turbo74. It's great to know that PBR are taking the problem seriously, after all, it's only been around since 1998 (or before?). Not a personal dig mate but I took my AU1 back to Ford nine times and to Midas four times to get that bloody noise fixed and everytime I got the typical response, "Yep, it's all fixed...". It's not as loud on my BA but definately noticable in underground carparks etc....

Yep. Same here. VERY annoying, had this in my AU too.

Forester XT AUS spec (Click) has the same power as the US spec (Click) yet the aus site claims 6.4 secs (0-100km/h). What the? Both cars have about 155kw pushing 1425kg.

Ahhh, it's good to see this relic of a thread up and running again.... One thing I have noticed since however long ago I started this thread..... How many people have got mods other than APS and Chiptorque? I think the majority of mods are done by APS, and a few people are runing the XEDE from Chiptorque but does anybody use the others? I can only think of a couple that have gone down the Nizpro route.....a few people who have gone capa then got rid of it.....so far no one has gone AVO and as far as I know there is only one member using the dynomotive product (not suprisingly ) I'm sure these are all great products but I would be interested to hear a bit about the not so publicised products out of curiosity. haha, agreed. Good on him for personalising his car, but he shouldn't make it look like something its not! If he made it individual like nothing else then fair enough but making it look like, and saying it is a GTP just isn't on!

As far as I can gather Wayne if you want to run video on the BA screen it must be in NTSC format. You are correct that the signal converter box is not required if all you want to do is run the sat nav (this is how mine is at the momment - no signal converter). However if you want to run video it will more than likely have a composite output which needs to be converted to RGB using the box to output it to the monitor. I guess if you could find a DVD player that played in NTSC and had an RGB output you might not need it? There are really good instructions on the fordmods (Click) website as to how to create your own VGA cable for the premium screen if you want to run a laptop etc. I am not sure how the switching works though? Aarron helped come up with it and is a member here - he should be able to help you. All you really need for pure satnav is the computer (DXN or DXV), the BA interface cable ($189) and the 4m RGB extension cable ($59) as well as a few cheaps bits of wire and connectors etc. I will get to work on the doc soon! Isn't Citric an XR and FPV only colour? If so you would have to respray a brand new car! Might look horn in red (whatever the normal one is?) or lightning strike (is this available to non xr?).

Hmmm.....good question. I probably spent about 8 hrs fiddling around doing research, plugging it all in and unpluging it then testing and trying to find everything! Now that I know where everything is I rekon I could probably do it again in about 3hrs or less. I spent ages trying to find the VSS and also had to stop and start a few times. Also at first I didn't know which plugs to look for or where I would run all the cables. With the photos I have taken though it should be pretty easy for the next person. Voy are you interested in doing it yourself? Is anyone else? If so I will put it all into a doc with explanations to make it easier. Let me know. Cheers, Chris

And yes they will have cosmetic changes done cdm. But l sort of like the idea of packages than series changes...think of it this way your car wouldn't depreciate that much. Also keep an eye on the new BAs in a few months they will delete the chrome strip underneath the rear tail lights and ad a chrome strip across the boot. I agree. I remember the way ford bent over the series 1 AU buyers (myself) with the series 2 coming out so soon after....then 3! Oh well. Chrome stripe over the boot? What the?

Yeh. Mate of mine is finishing his mechanical engineering degree and he knows a chick at Ford (hmm...sounds far fetched but it's not!) who was driving one about 8 months ago. She gave him a drive and back then he was on P's. She had it for about a week I think to put some k's on it.

Stayed with me for 18000km/h and about 9 months so far....I never had a b4 dyno done though so I'm not sure if its attributed to these addons or run in technique or manufacturers tolerance.

I think it's a bit like birds with loads of make up....good from far but far from good. I'm not really a fan of any wagons (except maybe RS6). I rekon despite what he said it must have been a dealership job. It probably cost him a bit too!

My car had centre muffler removed and BMC panel filter. It's a manual and made 211rwk. Pretty cheap mods really.

I know there's a few of you out there with a fetish for an XR or FPV wagon and it just so happend I spotted one today! It was a merc silver GTP. I pulled up and spoke to the guy at the lights and asked him if he fitted it all himself. Nope. Then I asked did the dealership fit it? Nope. Apparently it came from FPV like this. One things makes me suss though....the exhaust tip only looked about 2" diameter and I though GT's had a similar tip to the XR6? It went alright though so I think it was an 8. Anyway, sorry for the poor quality shots but I had to get my passenger to take the photos and he didn't really know how to use a digital camera (what's there to know?)!

I seem to remember Pete mentioning there was only about 3 variants of the Unichip that suit most models of car. I dunno if this would suit the XRT but it may be worth investigating.
