Stripes. Gets Dowen'd
I actually have tint on the car already, I had the dealer throw it in for free. Has octane from tint-a-car. I agree with the stripes, I've spent this much money on a GT so I like that the stripes make it stand out on the road and makes it easily recognisable for what it is. I actually saw a white GT drive past me yesterday that didn't have the stripes and it looked good...but I reckon there's more presence with the stripes tune will come, just not yet. In terms of lowering, I've got the Teins from my turbo I could put into it...but I think I'll hold off for a little bit, just wanna enjoy it it as it is for now.

XR6 Turbo Insurance: Premiums, Insurers & Advice
Well I just had a nice surprise. I just purchased a brand new GT and my initial insurance was around the $1,100 mark through SGIO, which based off my XR6T insurance costs seemed reasonable-ish. However I ended up moving house 3 days after getting the new car and so did an online quote to see what it would cost at my new house...quote came back under $700. So I called SGIO to update my address on all my policies and questioned the guy on this and he checked and confirmed it was all legit but wasn't based on location as if that were the case it would have dropped my other policies by similar. So he cancelled my original policy and started a new one for me at the reduced price. So these are the details: 2014 FPV GT Agreed value $81,000 Premium <$700 (can't remember the exact figure and don't have the paperwork handy) Excess $800 26 yr old WA - average area

Ok so dealer just called back and they've ordered a set of genuine stripes for me from factory. Now the question is do I trust them to have someone in workshop fit them for free...or do I go with someone else in Perth who's proven they're up to the task?

Stripes. Gets Dowen'd
Well I called the dealer and expressed my dissatisfaction and what I would like done and he said to leave it with him and he'd call me back...so this should be interesting...

Haha that's not my driveway Angel! That's another members car from AFF, I was using his car as an example of factory stripes compared to mine.

Battlefield 4
This reminds me that I should actually start playing this game. Got it launch day with my Xbox One but haven't got around to playing it yet...or COD...or Titanfall...or Forza...or assassin's creed...hmm, I need to dedicate more time to gaming. Also, I never wanna play against you Az...like...ever! Haha

Stripes. Gets Dowen'd
Yeah the worst part for me was that when I pointed out to the salesman I thought they weren't exactly right he said he hasn't noticed :/ when I signed the contract for the car he said it was coming with the stripes on it, but then it turned up without. In hindsight I should have insisted at the time that they put genuine stripes on...I guess I just assumed that's what would have been done... I think I'll give the dealer a call tomorrow and tell him I'm not happy with them and that given it was part of my contract that it was coming from the factory with the stripes and I was therefore under the impression I was getting genuine stripes put on that I only think it's fair that they get me a set of genuine FPV stripes. And then the Ming mole walked past when I was asking about who they used to do the stripes and she got all cocky about using a different person to who the salesman originally mentioned. That bítch rubbed me the wrong way from the start though, right back when I ordered the car.

A man of many words, as always, Aaron. So that's one vote for going back and getting up the dealer about getting a genuine sticker pack...

Stripes. Gets Dowen'd
Yesterday I took delivery of my brand new GT335. Car had 25kms on it when I drove it off the forecourt. Winter white, manual with black stripes and darkest l legal tinting thrown in. Interesting thing to note is that the car didn't actually turn up from the factory with the stripes on it, so the dealer organised for some to be put on. Now part of my job at work is peer review and so I notice the finer details in things. I noticed two differences with my stripes compared to what comes out of the factory: 1- the hockey stripes follow the crease in the doors and therefore sit lower down at the back, rather than sitting a constant height above the crease. 2- the "BOSS 335" part of the decal is the wrong font. This is merely an observation, as I actually think I prefer it the way the stripes sit on the side is on mine. But I'm not sure about the font of the "BOSS 335" bit...What's everybody else think? Would something like this potentially affect resale down the track? Feel free to be honest people, you're not going to ruin the love I have for my new car First impressions, coming from an FG XR6T, are my God these things are smooth! The whole package just feels so refined and effortless. I couldn't believe how light the clutch is compared to the Mal Wood option 3+ in my XR6T. Granted, the GT doesn't give you that same torque kick you get from the turbo but I definitely prefer the throttle modulation of the GT and the way it just keeps pulling. These Miami engines really are a masterpiece! Bravo FPV, bravo

I want wining about the stripes, if I was wining there would have been a rant and abuse thrown in for good measure. Like I said, I actually think it looks better the way it is on mine

Haha I'm not not gonna get them redone Marco. I actually think I prefer it the way they are on my car.

Yep, you win Angel. No-one picked the other difference though, being the position of the "BOSS 335" text. On mine it's height is centered in that little bit above the badge, rather than hugging the top edge like in the others.

Ok, so this is my OCD coming out and part of my job is peer review and picking up on the finer details of things. I think I'd mentioned on here previously that my car had turned up from the factory without the stripes on it, so the dealer organised to have some put on. I've noticed two things that are different about my stripes compared to how they come from factory. I'll post two photos, the first is my car, the second is another. Who can pick the two major (they're actually fairly minor...but still) differences between my stripes and the factory ones? I almost think mine lend themselves more to having my OCD hurt less. What do you guys reckon?

Ok so got to have a bit more of a decent drive and get the boot in a little...WHAT AN ENGINE! It really is a masterpiece. Everything just feels so smooth and easy, feels very refined. Jumped back in my XR6T to drive home (moving house this weekend so storing the GT elsewhere in the interim) and I missed the GT. Not to put the turbo down, it's a great car and the torque hit is great...but yeah...the GT...that Miami makes me happy in the pants!

Given this is my first brand new car and it's so smooth and quiet I think I'll probably leave it standard and enjoy it for what it is for a while

Quick pit stop for dinner. First impressions...THAT SOUND!!! God it sounds good! A little quiet if anything though...but I think for everyday driving maybe that's not such a bad thing. It's very smooth and pulls in any gear. Had to drive around in traffic thus far, but so far me likey
