Yup another fine example of RTFM no matter how old ya get that fundamental issue will rise up and bite ya on the As$ every time :banghead: and the problems it will cause is directly proportional to the crowd watching

Steve, I agree about your comments about GD at Bard Garlick---- a nice helpful fellow. Starting rough is what you said and rough idle is the VCT solenoid thingo, dirt in the pipes needsa good cough and a clean. Mine needs it again, 1st done at 8000k now at 17300k and bouncing it off the rev limiter doesnt fix it...I tried a few times I also have the idle drop to 300 and pick up when stopped at the lights, it doesnt quite stall but it thinks about it, probably is the VCT again. Craig
  8. We live near a Police Station in inner Sydney and da boys regularly pass our street corner while I am waiting to turn.....I am never sure of just how many revs ya can get out of a v6 commie but these guys give it a real try, one day it aint gunna make it. I followed them one day up past the entertainment centre, up hill and a big fast S bend The T does it in 2nd and drops traction at each road expansion joint. Their commie was sideways and screaming its head off. I backed off, was catching far too fast. Plonky is right , the general Police officer aint a HWP driver
  9. Hey plonky is that book really good? I was going to buy it but picked up a Clive Cussler instead Do I also notice that a certain Dodge is missing from your sig. Craig

Has anyone thought of changing the fog lights to driving lights, or are they mounted too low to get any range out of them. I also realise that the wiring would have to change to have them on only with high beam.
  17. Well it aint all the simple to work that out. Ford makes about 500 per day, so 8 hrs x 60 mins = 480mins per day therefore roughly 1 min per Falcon but each XR6 Turbo has to go to FPV for the Intercooler fitting, and other options which could take 3 days. Therefore each XR6 Tubo takes about 3 days to be born and a lifetime to enjoy Craig
  18. I like the fact that we can at least turn TC off. I like it off more than on, but on lazy car to work days in the wet it stays on until I feel like a play. I would like to see a selection or preference set in a menu that you can select it perm on or off instead of pushing that bloody hard to get to button each time you start it. Craig
  19. Cro Dont take the piss outa Ken He can do it all by himself
  20. Happy Birthday Guys Taste test a few for me. Craig

  24. I want to know what happened to LOGIC in the road speed debate. The numbers dont support the argument that Speed is the only thing that kills. If you compare the numbers of road deaths against the numbers of cars and trips now made from the 1980's we have improved outa sight, true every death is a death we dont need, but the states are not trying to improve the situation other than more fines!! Road design and driver training are bigger factors but that would require the states to spend money ( holy sh*t batman... spend we dont do that ) I have just returned from England and driving on their motorways is a joy, the speed differential between the lanes works so well, Left most lane = trucks and others below 50mph(80kph), Middle lane = cars from 50mph to 70 mph, Outside lane = 70mph plus Our driver told us that you are booked for being over or under the speed limits for each lane. Indicators, and headlight flashs are used to tell others of your intentions, works really well. There are roads in this country that could have this system implemented and drivers educated to use it properly. and a personal pet hate - keep left So what I want is better road, faster cars with considerate drivers, double the fines for 60kph zones in cities and towns but allow me to travel at my comfortable speed within the road conditions in this vast land with hugh distances, no other country has the distances we have to cater for. Maybe if a few pollies got out onto the roads,,,,na that wouldnt happen. and while most states are having budget problems the easy money gathered by speed cameras is never going to be given up easily, just dont lie to me that it is for my safety, be honest...ya need the money Craig

When we were at the Factory, Geoff Polities hinted at the ZF 6 speed box was very nice, that could have been a big hint for the Series II. It will also handle any increase in torque the improved turbo will produce Craig
