What sort of play? In and out or up and down? You running stock power? If its a T5 just throw in an exedy HD if its a T56 get an ace clutch option 3.

Id be surprised if the clutch wasn't already slipping mad when you dump it., you'll need to replace it 110%, what model is it? If the shaft play is as minimal as you describe then that's fine, mines had a small amount of in and out for a while now and its still fine. I haven't heard of that problem with the dual zone but I know the plastic bit on my temp selector snapped behind the dash so its possible and yes its a dash out job so lots of $$ if your unlucky enough.

Sounds like it wasn't wired up correct and on top of that has a huge misfire youll probably get a page of error codes when its plugged in, good luck mate.

yeah GCG turbo have a few options Studs + Lockers Dump and Turbo Gasket Exhaust Manifold gasket Good quality stuff its the labor that kills it ive had a crack twice at doing mine but alas that lower stud still eludes me

That's massive BS I wouldn't be copping that, if it was serviced every 10k minimum and the log book filled in id be parking across their bloody driveway till they replaced it. I also don't get how after almost ten years no bastard at fraud has a farkin clue about the xr6ts other than "they go fast aye."
