And whilst the BAs might be cheap (hell that's why I bought one, but always driven a falcon) the performance upgrades are not if you want it done safely and properly, you still have to have a bit of bank unless you like throwing rods.

Touch wood my T5 hasnt been bad either but in saying that I dont thrash it off every set of lights either, and have only pumped 258kw max at the wheels. Id go the T56 though its definately a better box and worth the extra samoleons.

nah just dont be heavy on the foot and dont drive it long distance, I drove mine for 3 days to work n back about 65kms round trip with a really bad leak and whilst I wouldnt recomend it, I didnt get any fumes just a lot of looks as the noise was really loud. Id lost one bolt from the turbo and 4 off the flange, just goes to show what happens when you dont torque em up, I learnt my lesson that's for sure If your a little bit handy its not overly hard to take of the heat sheilds and check yourself but the turbo bolts can be a especially that last one.

I remember watching ACA once (dont ask me why I know its low IQ tv) and they had the head of the HW patrol saying exposed pod filters can become airborne flaming missiles in a crash because (and heres were I spat my JD out luaghing) they become soaked with fuel overtime. If your unfortunate enough to be in Sydney most of the HWP guys know whats meant to be under the hood back to front and will tell you as soon as you pop the hood for em what youve changed. It can get frustrating when theres a blitz ive been pulled over 3 times in a single trip from parramatta to penrith, always for a "random" breath test, thankfully ive never been defected as im always polite and straight up with the guys and so far havent had the straight by the books guy yet. Everytime theyve told me if it aint stock its defectable

My prediction is you have 2 possibly 3 ignition coils due to the standard new owners style, I own a BA and well they blow for the little niggly things, but just think of that bloke in the opposite stage lane in a stock clubby that thinks he'll flog you hands down cos he has more liters and the Kodak moment when he doesn't

They wont float just from idling but just after you give it a bit of a hit, itll shake like mad and either stall or get very close that's what mine did.

Ok for one you didnt mention if it had custom valve springs if not its definately floating which aint good, also if youve been giving her a good thrashing your coils are probably arcing out, pack em with some electric tape I found it helps prevent this unless your coils completely stuffed which isnt uncommon. You can get genuine ignition coils on Ebay or the Weapon X performance coils from one of our many advertisers. To know everything for sure get your mechanic to pull the codes up for you.

Id say 9/10 times boost leak I had a small split in my TB - Xover hose and lost a ton of power, and as was reccomended to me if it hasnt been done upgrade all your clamps, they may set you back 10 - 15 bucks each but when your heads under the bonnet due to a blown off hose more than you get to drive the thing youll do it. Grinding noises arent good mate get that checked out asap.

Id love a hi flow but cant afford the retune as I have an xcal 1 box so hi flow + xcal3 + retune is not something I can do straight away. The cars a daily driver so need something to get me by till I can fork out the dosh on a hi flow.

After calling around for prices I am definately looking for a used standard cat if anyones selling one for a BA, im not liking my chances but its worth a shot so if anyones selling im looking. Im in Sydney

I know the bolts work loose and theyre due for a tighten but this is one really loud raspy noise as I accelerate could it really be THAT loose?

Im not having much luck lately with the old Ba series 1, turns out ive blown the exhaust manifold gasket so car sounds like sh*t with air leaking out and whatnot. My question would be is there a better quality type/brand of gasket out there than the one Ford used as ive no doubt the quality of the stocky wouldnt be the best. Also since the turbo will be off should I replace the gasket to the dump as well if theres a better quality one out there somewhere?

Chers mate I suspected as much better call in all my chrissy presents early, still mad at SCT for forcing me to buy another flasher unit but such is life I spose.

Hey guys, as stated the Cats blocked so im needing a replacement my question is if I do this and get the center muffler removed do I need to get a retune if its a Hiflow cat? Its just that im still stuck with a series one flash box so a retune will smash the pocket as ill need to buy an xcal 3 on top. I know I could always just ram a pipe through the current one but the fine for gettin busted would exceed a full exhaust system I imagine. Ba series 1 - Stocky with flash tune from CV performance.

I had a similar problem but had a vacuum line that had blown off, ive heard the old dimple style TPS can cause dramas so have a look into faulty TPS symptoms for any similarities.

Can you hear a loud hissing sound from under the hood?

There is one missing but I didnt think itd allow that much movement to throw the hose off, but hey its certainly the cheapest option to try I guess. Thanks Its been missing for quite a while as ive had no ideas where to grab a replacement.
