I finally got around to to fitting my new brakes and CAI To my T. The brakes feel heaps better than the standard . I want to start doing some mods to the engine next year (APS P1 Or 2) So I thoutght I better do somthing about the brakes. The XR8 CAI I got of a friend who traded his car in and re fitted the standard air filter box. I havn't really driven it far but I certainly hear the difference. The in intake noise is much louder. I'm looking forward to taking it for good run to see if makes any difference at higher speeds. I've posted some pics of the brakes and engine bay.

Mysterious Puddle
Shouldn't matter if you brought the car second hand. If it's still under warranty they should fix it

Typhoon Gauges
I was just reading the December "Motor" mag with the Typhoon on cover. Theres a picture of the oil pressure and boost gauges in the article, but the boost gauge has no numerical scale, just - and + and lines in the middle. I was considering putting these gauges in my T but it seem pointless having a boost gauge that dosen't tell you boost pressure.

Premium Rear Brakes, Is Disc Larger?
I didn't realise at the time of purchase (eBay special) that I was only actually getting the fronts, though the rears are essentially the same except for the eliptical grooved discs and black painted calipers, so knowing this it's no big deal anyway. I paid about $1300 including fitting, the full deal is nearly $3000 from Ford when you option them on a new car, I hate to imagine what they are worth over the spare parts counter. I could of got the aftermarket PBR setup for around $1900 (plus fitting) but I like the idea of the parts being Ford branded that way the insurance company shouldn't look at it as a modification, rather as an accessory. that's a good price Falchoon, you could probably get away with just a different set of pads in the rear till you get the rotors your looking for. I went for the PBR Kit because it comes complete with braided hoses, pads etc.

Premium Rear Brakes, Is Disc Larger?
that's right, they are identical exempt for colour and different design slots.

Tyre Pressuress
I put 38 Front and rear in my 18" tyres. The 17" Dunlops actully suffer from sidewall splitting you can get them under warranty from dunlop if you put a claim through a dunlop supplier.

Premium Rear Brakes, Is Disc Larger?
Premo Front calipers 325 x 32, Rear 303 x 16 Same as standard but slotted PBR Kit identical but slots slightly different and calipers are red. I have the PBR Kit on my T and they have been great so far. I can still get the kits at a great price. If your interested PM me

I Think My Pulley Is Going? Serpentine Belt? {Merged Topic}
Yeah they said that they checked the pulley's etc! But I'll get my mech to check it all coz I know they have pretty mechanics working on the cars, if your not lucky enough to get an apprentice! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Good luck, Just keep kicking up a stink about it and will fix it. It took 2 Times leaving the car at the dealer overnight before they fixed mine.

Auto Box
Just tried on the way home, when you side it across it says "PER" Which is performance mode but sitll changes gears automaticlly. When you push the shifter forward or back it goes into manual mode and displays what gear you're in.

I Think My Pulley Is Going? Serpentine Belt? {Merged Topic}
I had mine replaced at 15,000 Km, I was getting a whistling noise when starting cold. They changed the adjuster, idler pullies and belt under warranty. Apparantly the pullies were burred with was damaging the belt.
